Stopped in Heraklion on our recent Cruise. A visit to the Cathedral of St. Minas will not dissapoint. Stunning Interior and a dramatic Exterior. Not to be missed.

The museum om Christian art in Heraklion is a little gem. The church in this museum is placed is a very beautiful building and gives you a religious experience. And the collection of icons is very impressive. They are all very interesting and beautiful. The context they are made which is described gives you a lot more than just to look at them. It is not a museum that takes a lot of time but sticks in your memory of as a light and happy experience. It can be highly recommended.

Agia Triada is a beautiful, serene and quite monastery in a very near proximity to Chania, Chania airport and Seitan Limani beach. We visited it on a beautiful afternoon at sunset after spending the day at Seitan Limani beach. It was one of those times when you go for a place just be following the signs, totally unplanned, and what a discovery it was! Gorgeous yet very modest place, beautiful old architecture overlooking a plain of vines. Heaven of flowers and playful kittens. The place offers wine tasting of the local wines produces in the region. As well as the church, there is a museum, which we unfortunately did not manage to visit due to our late arrival. Would highly recommend to people who look for something different from a holiday on the beach only. This place just fills yous soul with silence and beauty.

Set up a mountain just off the main road, its as I said tranquil and peaceful. Well worth a visit just t see the church and view. Still in use as a monastery and well kept. Plenty of places to sit in the shade and just chill out for a moment or two.
