A gem hidden in this area and a must visit for people visiting Dharmasthala and surrounding. The temple is quiet and peaceful due to lack of commercialization and this is the best part. No queues at all and once can spend enough time to relax and meditate. Google map will take you a bit ahead than the actual spot, hence once you are near, then please ask locals for exact direction. There is a small hanging bridge for photo enthusiast and the Kapali river flowing along with the green cover gives you a nice forest theme. The temple closes around 1 pm and then reopes at 3 pm; hence please plan accordingly. You can also feed the fishes in the kapali river with aralu. However fishing is banned in this region hence please avoid any misdoing. There is a small shop outside the temple which prepares authentic south indian food and one can have meals to satisfy one's hunger. Very nice people and they helped us a lot with the details and history of the temple. Very nice

Kukke Subramanya is a Hindu temple located in the karnataka, In this temple Kartikeya is worshipped as Subramanya, lord of all serpents. The epics relate that the divine serpent Vasuki and other serpents found refuge under Subramanya when threatened by the Garuda. Overlooking the temple is the famous mountain of Kumara Parvatha, a popular hiking destination for trekkers from across South India. Kumara Parvatha forms a picture-perfect backdrop to the temple entrance and the Shesha Parvatha (a mountain shaped like a six-headed mythological serpent, adjacent to Kumara Parvatha) looks like a cobra with its open hood, as if protecting the temple shrine of Lord Subramanya. The temple is situated on the western slopes of the Ghats and is covered with dense evergreen forests Pilgrims going to the temple have to cross the Kumaradhara River and take a holy dip in the river before entering the temple for their darshan holy viewing of the Lord.

The most amazing temple in the town of Moodbidri is also one of the most amazing Jaina temple anywhere. The temple houses the tallest monolithic manstambha of any Jaina temple and is a treasure trove of art and architecture. The most striking feature of the temple is the simple yet elegant manner in which the temple has been built. The idol in the sanctum Santorum appears mystical and mesmerizing. The architecture of the temple with its sloping roofs is a departure from the usual Jain temples located in the cities. How amazing it is to take a note of the wonderful pillars and image those hands that have touched them centuries ago... It is sad however to note that parts of temple compound is not well maintained and the authorities must take notice of it.Also all the others Jain temple here are not at all well maintained with mosses now taking over the them and no one to take care of them...

Situated in the heart of the city this huge temple is a divine place. The smaller temples of Aiyappa, Anjaneya, Ganesha, Durga Parameswari & Chandramouleeswara add to the splendour. The Kaasi Bhageerathi theertha from where water can be collected & used for abhishekam of the Shiva lingam by devotees is so unique. A must experience place.
