This place is just simply amazing. Amazing. Through and through. I'll start at the beginning I guess. Ok, so you get to the location and have to drive down this crazy, long, windy, hilly, gravel road. The first day there it was intimidating - you don't see many short, flat, gravel roads where I live, let alone one that appeared ready for xtreme off roading to my city-eyes. There were funny signs along the drive that reassured you you were going the right way though and after that initial drive we quickly learned that it really was no big deal at all to navigate to and from the location. The cabin we slept at was perfect. Picture perfect even. It has all the comforts of home, but the views of paradise. We woke up to a stunning sunrise, a gorgeous deck just perfect for coffee among the sounds of the horses in the nearby pasture, and even a friendly ranch dog named Hiya that liked to cruise around the grounds. The cabin was comfortable, peaceful, clean, and amazing. We did a trail ride - it was about an hour long, and trust me, we are not experienced horse people. My husband has seen a few horses from a distance, that's all the riding experience he had. I took some lessons when I was the ripe old age of 12. My 8yr old was the talented one as we signed her up for a few lessons this spring, but my 6yr old had only ridden a carnival pony in circles once. So to say the least I was a bit curious how this would all work out - - - but it was fine! Better than fine! We all got along with no issues at all and we got to see the amazing area around the ranch too. Truly a memorable experience. We've been home a few days now, and we saw many many sights on our vacation (Yellowstone/Tetons/Devil's Tower/Rushmore/Rodeo/etc) and all my kids can talk about is the horses at this ranch. Well, the horses and the dog Hiya :) Let's see. We also saw the dinner show that's on site and it was fabulous. You get a dinner - steaks, beans, baked potato, apple sauce, brownie - that is top notch. Maybe I was just extra hungry that day, but that food was perfectly cooked. I've eaten at some top rated restaurants at home in Chicago. Forget them. This steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The dinner show part was a band of sorts with...(let me show my musical ignorance here....) I believe a banjo, a violin, maybe a fiddle??, a guitar or two, and an upright bass? as well as two vocalists. There was some singing, some jokes, some jibbing on fellow bandmates, and really just an overall good time. From young to old, we all really enjoyed the show and the atmosphere. So. As far as a review? Maybe I need a few more days to get over the afterglow, it's only been a week or so, but my review is as-good-as-it-could-possibly-get. I can't even think of a negative - or even a less-than-great thing to comment on. Well, if I'm really trying, perhaps I should mention that there's no AIR in their stinking air there. The whole place (I'm pretty convinced the whole dang state) is at a high altitude. And they don't know what the heck flat land even is.....so I spent a ton of time huffing and puffing and chugging water because altitude sickness is a real thing, let me tell you!

We had an excellent experience with A-OK. We visited with 4 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 6-16. 2 of us did the 1-hour ride because of the 6 year old and the rest of us did the 2-hour ride. Beautiful views and a great ride in trails up and down the mountain. Good picture opportunities! Slim really took care of us and made sure everyone was comfortable and had a good time. He is a real cowboy that loves what he does.

Of all our ranch vacations, this one offered the most variety of terrains and rides. Every day a different surprise - Wind River and Absaroka ranges, Elk range, river canyons, volcanic ash hills, cattle driving, riding lessons, yoga, fly fishing, easy hikes to great scenery between rides, very well cared for horses, healthy but hearty meals with fresh veggies and wine, immaculate rustic cabins and excellent entertaining and knowledgeable hosts, the Fox family, attending to every detail. A total escape from the business stresses! This was the best ranch vacation we have had. So we're going back again in 2020!

America's only Bison Train Tour. We are the second largest Bison Ranch in the United States. We offer ATV Rides, Guided Horseback Trail Rides, a Trading Post for amazing shopping, a Restaurant and Full Bar, RV Sites, Tent Camping Sites, Cabins and Venues for any Event large or small.
Northbound on I-25 just past the colorado/wyoming border is where this place lies. Even though it's right off the interstate, you would miss it if you blink. This place is a Hidden Gem with lots of fun activities such as horseback riding the bison train where you can ride out and get up close and personal and feed the bison. There are also a multitude of different animals on the ranch you can see for free and the Senators Steakhouse is also on the property where you can get an awesome bison burger. If you're ever in the area you should definitely check this place out especially if you've got a family with children.
