Pros: It’s in a very peaceful valley (bit of a wind trap when we were there..), a short drive from the road into CdG. The staff are friendly and accommodating and it’s all very clean and well maintained. The pool and it’s surrounds are also clean and welcoming. No issues with breakfast, enough of a choice and selection. Decent, clean shower room. You definitely need a car, nothing within walking distance, some prefer the peace! Cons: The room we had was tiny, there was nowhere to put our suitcases apart from one in each corner, where they barely fitted. These are tight corners and anyone with mobility issues is going to trip over them. There was a huge wardrobe but bearing in mind people only stay a few nights (three for us and our friends), I doubt this was of much use? Two of the worst points are that breakfast finishes at 0930 and check out is by 1000. We usually stay with a friend, who owns a lovely B+B within a 3 min drive (she was booked out by a tour group..), she said this was a rather odd policy. I have to agree, people are on holiday, that’s why they come here, they don’t want to be forced to get up earlier than they would normally. This could have been driven by profit, as the staff got straight on with room cleaning after the breakfast was cleared up. Staff shortages shouldn’t affect guest experience.

"Baglio" is a typical Sicilian farmhouse with an ancient heritage and Bagilo Pocoroba was established in 1883. Comprising a lovely country estate set amongst rolling hills, we're blessed by limpid blue skies and a warm embracing Sicilian sun almost all year round. Today my family and I live and work in this enchanted place, continuing the noble traditions of our forefathers. At Baglio Pocoroba you'll be immersed in nature, surrounded by 30 hectares of olive trees, orchards, vineyards and vegetable gardens. Organic red and white wines, jams, honey, fruits and figs are all produced on the estate. As are fresh bread and cakes that we bake daily for breakfast. Our ancient Sicilian traditions are important to us. We want you to enjoy the culture, food and hospitality of our forefathers and the beautiful Island of Sicily. A stay a Bagio Pocoroba is rich with diverse activities. Pick your own tomatoes, figs, courgettes, aubergines, pears and apricots. A visit to our museum of traditional farm implements provides a fascinating eduction of ancient agricultural techniques and just over the hill is the ancient ruins of Segesta. Close by are the beautiful seaside towns of Scopello and San Vito Locapo, the ancient hill top town of Erice. Our nicely furnished bedrooms and apartments have comfortable accommodation and all have bathrooms en suite. Baglio Pocoroba also boasts a swimming pool where you can while away the hours gazing at the gently rolling hills and enjoying the birdsong. Welcome to Bagio Pocoroba. Relax, unwind, eat and enjoy the vita Siciliana. Agriturismo Baglio Pocoroba
We only stayed in this place for one night. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Location: It is close to the Segesta ruins, in the middle of vineyards, olive and other fruit trees. Room: Our room was clean and basic with a very nice balcony. The heater worked well. We sat on the sunny roof. Staff: The staff and the owner were very nice. Upon arrival, we were offered glasses of local wine. Food: Basic breakfast with homemade jams and bread, different kind of juices, olives etc . (I will talk about dinner separately as it's not included with the room) Parking: Free Wifi: Fine

During a Corona month we were the only guests. Rooms are simple and comfy, and the staff is ultra friendly. Highlight of our stay was a wonderful rich and tasty dinner, and also the breakfast was the best we had on Sicily.

Il Carmine is located on the top of Mount Erice, and it is an oasis of peace completely compatible with the history and the characteristics of the medieval town of Erice. It was a Carmelite friars' Monastery but now thanks to a renovation, our guests can stay in very comfortable rooms. All our rooms are equipped with the following comforts: - heating system; - private bathroom; - towels and bed linen; - satellite TV; - hair dryer; - desk; - balcony (only in some of the rooms);- tidy up and daily cleaning; - change of towels and bed linen every three days;- independent access h24.
We had this converted convent almost to ourselves as we were traveling during the off season – two weeks before Easter. Consequently, the staff was extremely welcoming, lovely, and attentive. The place was completely quiet. The breakfast bountiful and the attention of the chef at dinner was amazing! We chose the Deluxe Room with a private terrace (see pictures) that you must walk up a little step ladder to get to, but it was a lovely place to sit for an evening apperitivo before dinner. It had a nice bathroom and was totally quiet in early April. It was great to be in Erice overnight as it is a magnet for day tourists and almost deserted in the evening. We stayed two nights and had the village almost to ourselves during our post-dinner passegiattas ... in a misty fog (pictured).

Our Rural home is located in panoramic country setting and only 100 metres from a main road leading to town. We are approximately 3 km. from the historic Mediterranean port town of Castellammare. The cuisine is based on traditional Sicilian specialities, and most of the fruits, vegetables, olive oil, and preserves we use are produced on site.
This property is in an excellent location, provided that one has a car as it is 2 km away from the centre and in the rural part of Castellamare del Golfo. Nevertheless, one can reach the centre in just a few minutes' drive. Staff was very helpful, and the views from the room were breath taking. Breakfast was excellent and abundant with a variety of juices, processed meats, bread, home made cakes and fruit.

On the slopes of Mount Erice, just 50 meters away from the sea, born the Farm Holiday Tenuta Pizzolungo. Within the property, you will experience the natural beauty of Sicily, reflected in our garden. Fragrant magnolias, healthy pines, ficus and palm trees give the place a special mediterranean charm. On a rocky ridge that gently slops down to the sea, overlooking the estate, are cultivated olive trees, vegetables and cereals. The farm is located in an ideal position to visit the province of Trapani, including the islands Egadi easily accesible by hydrofoil from the port of Trapani. Along the estate there are many rural constructions skilfully renovated, e.g. the "gebbia", an old stone tank used to collect water, the "stalla" (stable), nowadays converted to gazebo and barbecue area, the winery, where it is possible to look closely at old presses and other agricultural tools formerly used for the production of wine and olive oil. Walking along the farm holiday you will encounter many courtyard animals, especially our peacocks who proudly show their beautiful plumes. On the farm you can experience the thrill the "paths of the sea", following a breathtaking path alongside the beach and countryside, while on donkey-back, discovering the hidden treasures of the estate. Tata, Zara e Serenella, our little donkeys await at beginning of the path to be brushed and after some caresses the journey is ready to begin following interesting paths.
Marco works hard to keep this Agriturismo a comfortable and excellent spot for you to stay. He graciously came to meet us when I had trouble finding the entrance. Our rooms was comfortable, clean and the bed was firm and gave us a good night's sleep. A typical Italian breakfast was abundant (the freshly squeezed orange juice is awesome!). In addition to being an Agriturismo, it also houses numerous animals...there is a wandering peacock, dogs, turkey and many others types of animals as well as varied gardens and vegetables. It is an interesting place. Marco gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants that we fabulous (Salamuricci in Trapani & Cortile di Venere nearby). I recommend you stay here if you plan to explore western Sicily. Our tours of Favignana & Levanzo Islands were excellent - all at Marco's suggestion. Excellent stay and worth finding this place!

Berlingeri Resort is perfectly integrated into the vineyards and the olive groves of the Farm. The old and peculiarly Sicilian style farmhouse has been completely renovated carefully caring the original architecture and revisiting materials that were once used..Inside, the interiors – the twelve suites, the lounges, the restaurant and the congress hall – are remarkably impressive for the simplicity of the architectural style, the calm colours, the contemporaneity of the furnitures, the efficiency and the modernity of the offered services.
If you do, the Berlingeri Resort is for you. We stayed here for 3 nights while on a wonderful tour through Sicily. Luckily all of our local activities were easily reached by bus because this place was much too isolated for us. It is a short drive up a bumpy road that is accessed from a larger (not big or main) country road. While the rooms were very nice, clean, comfortable and spacious, the resort resembled an old US type motor lodge where you would park your car just in front of your ground floor room. Now, to be fair, cars cannot park in front of the rooms. The rooms open out onto an area that is a landscaped lawn with sidewalks connecting the rooms to the main building in which the restaurant is found. The main sidewalk also goes down to a very nice outdoor pool area complete with a bar/snack building. From this area, the lawn area and the back windows in the rooms, you can view the adjacent vineyard. That's about it, folks. So, if you want to veg-out, soak up the sun (if it's shining which it didn't on us), enjoy lounging around the pool (it was too cool for us), this is for you. And, the wifi was very good, breakfast choices were very limited and just ok, and the lighting in our bathroom could have been better. The staff was engaging but we would not pick this place for ourselves.

'Baglio Case Colomba' is situated in the hills of western Sicily. In ancient times, the road linking the important Elymian cities of Erice and Segesta passed through the area. The rustic farmhouse, built around a courtyard, dates from the end of the nineteenth century. Despite recent renovations, all of its original features have been preserved intact. The property is surrounded by lush orchards that produce a variety of fruits all year round. Fresh farm produce can also be bought from neighbouring houses. 'Baglio Case Colomba' is an ideal starting point for unforgettable day-trips to many places of cultural and historical interest and to the Nature Reserves of western Sicily, so you can alternate between days spent walking or relaxing in the beautiful countryside dotted with small villages, farms and medieval castles, and excursions by sea and by land to explore the scenic coastline. Places not to be missed include: the archaeological sites of Selinunte (the largest Greek colony in Western Sicily), Segesta, an ancient Elymian settlement, with its Doric temple and magnificent amphitheatre, Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples, the island of Mothia, the Cusa Quarries, the towns of Erice, Marsala, Trapani and Palermo. The many attractions along the spectacular coastline include: the wide sandy beach, stunning bay and crystal-clear waters of the popular resort of San Vito Lo Capo, 'Guidaloca' beach and 'I Faraglioni' (rock stacks rising from the sea) at Scopello, the small coves and inlets in the Zingaro Nature Reserve, the bay at Makari, the magnificent Egadi archipelago, the Trapani salt mines and the Stagnone Lagoon islands. In perfect harmony with this abundance of unspoilt nature, traces of human activities of days long gone can be seen in old tuna farms, watermills and small harbours, testimony to the strong ties that have always bound Sicily's populations to this rich and beautiful land.
We stayed 2 weeks at this place. Indeed nice location in the middle of sicilian landscape (vineyard, oliveyards... even snakes, bees ..) Host is very friendly. The big disadvantage there is only a small kitchen in the little house. So lucky we could sit outside under a roof covered by leaves. But it was windy out there and bit cold in morning and evening.

What went wrong? The person in charge...basically a really angry person, nasty even to the elderly lady that was in house (which guests really don't like to see) and kept insisting on mistreating us. ...besides her, the servers were very nice, the food was good, even very good, their olives, (produced in house) are excellent, we got a pasta with peck and pistachios that was exquisite and several meats, particularly the beef was perfectly prepared, along with some eggplant grilled, yummy, simple. Accommodations are basic, but cleaned and comfortable and the place itself is beatiful. I hope management reconsider the person that they have in front....not an smart choice. ..she may sour the good vibe of anyone..

We have had such a great time here. The pool is second to none with lovely views of the surrounding countryside and provides vital cooling during the heat of the day! In fact it was difficult to leave the pool at all!! There is plenty of space to be independent, if wanted, but also felt very welcome to join in with the others too. The hosts, Daniela & Emanuele, are kind, caring and very considerate. They won’t hesitate to help with local knowledge or places that we should see, food that we should try. They are wonderful people and shall take care of you when needed. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious and the house is a lovely place to be. There is ample parking and being near the main road meant travelling to places was super easy. The garden hosts an orchard we’re I was encourage to pick figs and pears when I wanted and they tasted incredible. The aroma of the surrounding countryside was lovely. Re the location, we are so close to Scopello and not far from San Vito which are worth visiting (off peak times). It’s also not far from Macari with beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. We would absolutely recommend this to family and friends and shall no doubt be back soon. Thank you Daniela and Emanuele for a fantastic stay. We shall see you soon I hope. Grazie.
