Provence in southeastern France is divided into six departments and stretches from Orange to Nice. Many consider the Luberon in Vaucluse to be the "real Provence." Gently sloping vineyards and lavender fields are the backdrops that enthralled Cezanne, Van Gogh and Chagall. An excellent train network makes travel between cities easy. To explore villages, drive or catch a bus. Particular highlights include Palace of the Popes at Avignon, the Roman amphitheatre at Arles and the craft center of Les Baux.

The DomaineIdeally situated in the heart of Provence, on the edge of the Camargue, this 320-acre private estate offers a warm welcome to you. While exploring the many walking paths and bicycle trails, you will discover endless journeys through idyllic countryside immortalised by great painters and poets. In the recently renovated buildings dating from the 19th century you will find our two and three holiday gites (apartments) with an average area of 720 square feet. Each gite has an individual, stone walled terrace for your “al fresco” meals accompanied by the famous, singing cigales (cicadas).Parking is available for motorbikes, bicycles and cars.To make the most of the surrounding calm, the shade of the plane tree grove offers the ideal place for those afternoon naps that are so welcome after long walks. For cooling off, the swimming pool is at your disposal for swimming and sunning.
The Gite was a superb base for our week in the Arles area. The accommodations was superb, and fitted out to a very high standard. Sylvie our host was very attentive and was there when needed to make our stay so enjoyable. Very convenient for Arles and the wider area. Thankfully Sylvie mentioned the area of Les Baux-de-Provence, which we hadn’t realise was such a fantastic place to visit and only a few minutes drive from the Gite. Highly Recommended.

The residence is composed of individual wooden housing with large terraces.take place in a wooded area consisting of olive trees a few kilometers from Hyères, Bormes les Mimosas and Saint Tropez. The accommodations are air conditioned and decorated with modernity.Heated pool and spa complement your stay.
Nice place in the mountains with small but nice cabins. Our 3rd child slept in the living room but it was just fine. Very nice pool facilities and a nice cafe on the property for meals and drinks. They tried making a lot of activities for kids and entertainment. The village nearby is very small and is not where you spend most of your time. However the beach is close. We spend a day in Cannes and a trip to Bormes-les-Mimosas (can recommend). Also Gorge du Verdon is close and awesome! Rent a boat and sail on the river.

Our 2 couples shared in Casa Dora Gite, a lovely, cosy but very well equipped accommodation. The gite is situated in 2/3 acre of peaceful, pretty land with many activities - pool, indoor/outdoor games, apparently a pizza night during summer. The laundry is well stocked with necessities. The Kitchen is plentiful in its crockery, utensils etc. The hosts, the 2 Kerryns, are excellent - very knowledgeable, friendly and so helpful. We caught the local bus into Avignon, an easy walk to the bus stop. There are so many places to visit without driving too far that makes the location excellent for discovering Provence.

The flats are very well equipped. St. Remy is a good starting point for trips to Avignon, Arles, Pont du Gard, or to the Camargue.

We had imagined that we were booking a B and B but in actual fact the B and B room is literally built into the stables and the rest of the accommodation is in the form of a gite. It's a lovely spacious room with wifi although missing a decent sized bin or fridge. The hosts are absolutely lovely people and breakfast was plentiful and well presented. The pool is also a decent size and cleaned every day with lots of beds. Saintes Marie is a good 15 minute drive and when we went, was absolutely packed with holiday makers. The sea front is a bit tawdry but the main streets are very pleasant. We also went to Aigues Mortes for dinner one night, which is about 30 mins drive which we loved. Very historical and atmospheric at night. If you stay here you just need to bear in mind the likelihood of flies etc - and not mind horses. Bring lots of mosquito repellant!

Property with 5 gites (separated entry and private terrace) for 2 to 20 persons, between Avignon and Carpentras. Located in the Pays de Sorgues and Comtat Venaissin countryside, this magnificent 'Mas' from the 17th century, totally renovated with style, is set in 6000 sqm of nicely landscaped park where you will find a covered pool built in an old barn, very sunny thanks to the large sliding bay windows (you will be able to swim all the year in a 27° to 30° water). BBQ/chimney, boules pitch, pool and a pond where a duck family is living. Very well located, the estate is 5 min away from the center of the village and the mall. Very good restaurants close by. You will be able to be very quickly in downtown Avignon and will enjoy all the cultural or leisure activities, discover also the rural markets and taste our local specialities.
Our family of 1 set of grand parents, 3 adult children and two of their spouses, 2 12 year olds and 2 teenagers, 11 in all, spent an idyllic week in the stand alone home at La Rose Des Vents La Pitchout in June of 2016. The house is manorial, beautiful, well equipped and gorgeous, we made the memories of a lifetime together. The kitchen is a gourmet cook's dream, complete with pizza oven. One night our teenager grandson even prepared hamburgers in the outdoor, covered grill and dining building. Each of the 5 bedrooms is beautifully decorated with a wonderful bathroom, two are on the main floor, the rest upstairs. We especially enjoyed gathering in the outdoor seating at night, sharing our experiences traveling to the many beautiful towns within an hour, and sharing the wine we'd bought. The petanque court intrigued us all and became another evening gathering spot, as did the pools. The owners are warm and gracious and extremely creative people. We would go back in a minute.

Mas de la Bonoty, in the heart of Provence, is an elegant farmhouse dating from the XVIIth century which has been carefully restored into a charming restaurant du terroir and chambre d'hôte. It is situated just outside the small town of Pernes-les-Fontaines which is 5km from Carpentras, 25 minutes east of Avignon with its TGV connection and 1 hour from Marseille and Nîmes airports. The Mas offers comfort, tranquility and relaxation, with its pool set in over 2 acres of private grounds, landscaped with apricot, cherry, olive trees and lavender. With views to Mont Ventoux the Mas is surrounded by vines and the internationally renowned vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel, Beaumes de Venise and the local Côtes de Ventoux are all within easy reach. The hilltop villages of Gordes, Venasque and the Luberon National Park are nearby as well as many local village markets and of course, the famous antique market at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The area is ideal for cyclists and walkers with golf, tennis, horseriding and canoeing available nearby and the Mediterranean Coast is under an hour away by car. The region is also known for its diverse cultural activities amongst which are the Avignon festival and opera in the magnificent roman arenas at Orange and Nîmes.
Outstanding French food in a delightful countryside setting. Vegetarian dinners were imaginative, tasty, & beautifully presented. The rooms were modest, comfortable, & clean. Limited non-French language ability but the family were professional, charming & welcoming at all times. An unusual find & highly recommended.
