A Traditional North Woods Resort on Minnesota's Legendary Leech Lake.
We've been coming to Brindley's off and on for 20 years - from when the kids were little to married. We've always had a fantastic time. We've stayed in their smallest one bedrooms cabins and in their large log homes. This year we had 8 in a log home and 4 in a two bedroom cabin. The cabins/homes are clean, the grounds are well kept, the dock help are amazing. They are always at the ready when we pull in with the boat. They clean and label the fish. My husband takes out the sailboat, my fav is the paddleboard, and others in our group love to kayak. All those are free! This year we also rented a jet ski - great fun! Thank you for continuing to be amazing!!!

Just returned from spending a week at this relaxing and friendly resort. Our cabin was ready early and was very clean. The resort owners are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had so much fun fishing, joining other families at a bonfire, enjoying the beautiful lake views. This is a very safe resort with lots of return customers. We love it here and can’t wait to go again next year!

Refreshing, clean cabins and a stunning beach is just the beginning. Explore the Secret Garden, a whimsical walking adventure unique to Black Pine Beach Resort. All of this, and a level of service you thought had long since disappeared, make your vacation outstanding.
Can't say nice enough things about this cute, quiet, child friendly place. Tidy, friendly, and helpful staff. Great view of bay on Whitefish Chain. Swimming, boating, fairy garden, playground, volley ball right there. Easy driving or biking distance from local shopping, ice cream, and restaurants.

We are located on Bay Lake in Central Minnesota and have 20 one-to-four bedroom cabins all with new air conditioning and new pool and hot tub. Bay Lake with its many bays, points and islands is considered one of the more picturesque lakes in Minnesota, and it is also great for bass fishing. We also have a large lodge space available for retreats and reunions.
This is a terrific resort with tons of amenities and comfortable cabins. My family if 4 and 2 dogs stayed in cabin 21 for a week during the summer of COVID. The kids enjoyed the pool, hot tub, kayaks, water trampoline and fishing. We expected to get around town more, but there was so much to do at the resort, we barely left. We rented one of their fishing boats one day and caught a bushel if sunfish and a couple of bass. Our cabin is probably the worst one, but still very nice and plenty of space for 4 and 2 dogs. We hope to visit again soon.

Totally disappointing. If I could give them zero stars I would. The place was completely disgusting. The cabin we were supposed to stay in had spider webs all over the kitchen and living areas. The counters and bathrooms look like they haven't been cleaned in months. There were several large spiders hanging out in one of the bedrooms and one the only bathroom. The last straw was when we noticed the black mold in the bathroom and ceiling in the bedrooms. When we informed the staff, she moved us to another location in the apartment building and said that another cabin would be available the next night. We were grateful that she was able to accommodate us. This new cabin was not much better as the sink leaked water everywhere and the floors were sinking, however, it was a slightly lot cleaner than the prior cabin. Upon checking out, they charged us an additional $50 for a cleaning fee????? Staff was completely rude. If you are looking for a cabin getaway, keep looking. This place was a complete disappointment.

Find your own piece of secluded heaven at Trout Lake Resort! We welcome you to our small, family friendly resort. You will be deep in the pristine forest, yet only 16 miles from the shore of Lake Superior and award winning harbor town Grand Marais. We have lake shore cabins with private access to the lake. Just steps from your cabin, you can cast your line, pull up your boat, or just relax, enjoy the view, and listen to the call of the loon. Fly fish, troll, or still fish for rainbow trout, lake trout, speckled trout, and brook trout. Outdoor charcoal grill provided (bring charcoal). We have heated ice fishing houses in the winter, and we connect to snowmobile trails. Pet friendly.
We spent a week here with a full house of 8. 4adults and 4 children ages 5 and 8. The staff at the resort are all friendly and are always around to answer a question or point you in the direction of a good answer. Cabin 6 worked great for us. The porch was perfect for the adults to hang out at night time. The kids all piled in the living room sleeping on a combo of air mattresses we brought and the pull out couch. The bed on the pull out was fine for the kids but I'm not sure an adult would be supported by the mattress. Each bedroom also had a full bed and a twin bed. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need even had a cake pan. The humming birds were fun to watch right from the cabin. The cabin has direct access to the lake we were able to launch our kayaks right from our little cabin area. Also the kids enjoyed making fairy houses in the little "yard". The lake bottom is very rocky and not great on the feet. One day we paddled to the east end of the lake where the bottom was sandy. We also found a nice public beach on near by Mink Lake that the girls loved. The cabin is In A great location 16 miles from Grand Marais and close enough to trails and the chikwauk center on the gunflint trail. We would love to stay here again.

Like many folks in the summer of 2020 we were looking for a last minute remote spot where we could socially distance but still have lots of amenities. North Star Lake Resort was amazing! The cabin was super clean. Rustic, but well stocked. Fabulous view of the lake. The kids loved the beach, especially the water trampolines. We all used the kayaks and paddle boats every day. We also enjoyed the pool, bikes, yard games and crafts in the lodge.

I booked Cabin 9 for the 8 family members that came to the cabin. We were there for 4 wonderful days, the cabin was amazing, very clean and well outfitted. I can't possibly imagine having a better time. We rented the pontoon for the entire time as well, definitely a smart move. We plan to make this a yearly event.

We went in the off season for a get away. I think the owner might need a bit of help with property maintenance as it seems a bit shabby in places. Very pleasant and welcoming but she did not hover over us while we were there and that was nice. We enjoyed the privacy! We got a nice upgrade to a much larger cabin at a discounted one when the one I booked originally had a repair issue. The cabin was clean and well stocked. My family enjoyed the large open great room and kitchen combo. We stayed in the Norway.
