Outdoor venue with fresh air. Upclose encounters with lots of different animals including Ostrich, Deer, Lorikeets, Stingrays and so many more! Voted Top Ten Roadside Attractions in the US. Everyone is a kid here! Gift shop on premises.
Our group spent the whole day enjoying the ostriches, bunnies, donkeys, goats, sheep, birds, and stingrays at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch. The grounds were very clean and the animals were a joy to be around, feed, and talk to. The ostriches were very friendly to the point of taking off our hats if we were feeding their neighbor. Very funny! All the animals appeared to be in good health and happy. Grounds were immaculate. Kudos to their crews. The employees were friendly and answered all our questions.

This was my first dude ranch experience and I’m already trying to figure out a way to come back. I am an experienced rider and they gave me a horse with some giddy up which I really appreciated. They do a fabulous job of matching the person to the perfect horse for them. 2 people in my party were not riders at all and I really liked that there were activities for them of the non rider sort. The grounds were well kept and beautiful. The food was delicious. Anna Lisa at the front desk was wonderful and patiently answered every question we had.

How do you summarize Double R Guest Ranch...we offer some of the best and most scenic horseback riding in Arizona. Our well trained horses will carry you over the same trails that famous Apache Indian Chiefs Geronimo and Cochise once rode. Double R Ranch offers exceptional horseback riding in the mountainous rugged Arizona terrain surrounding the ranch. Whether you’re an experienced rider or it’s your first time in the saddle, we’ll make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for! Beginners can enjoy a leisurely ride on the gentle trails surrounding the Ranch–and riders with more experience will have opportunities for different guided rides in the surrounding mountains. Many of our mountain trails will challenge even the most advanced riders. We have trail rides for beginners, intermediate and more advanced riders. If you are someone who seeks the adrenaline rush of a faster paced ride and don't want to ride "nose to tail", we offer fast rides where you will be loping (canter) and galloping, that will be sure to satisfy that urge. As one guest recently put it..."As children we dreamed it, as adults we lived it" at Double R Guest Ranch. Where the West once was and still is.
Came for a three day stay in our 35 ft RV for our grandaughters birthday/ Christmas gift. She is 15 and had a great time camping and going on rides. The sunset ride was spectacular and the others rides are so much fun, as they have a great endless trail system through beautiful mountain desert terrain. The horses are very well trained and fitted to your riding ability and experience. Owner, Ron, is experienced and knowledgeable on all levels of horsemanship. He is friendly, accommodating and brings his love of horses to everyone. He has great wranglers to help in any way, and a team of dogs that welcome you the minute you arrive, and go out on the rides with everyone. They are quite entertaining. They also have other great overnight accomodations ,with a new beautiful dining room, and a great bonfire pit for evening stargazing.and marshmallow roasting. When you stay here you are truly a part of a western ranch away from the cities noise and stresses.

We are 2 middle aged animal lovers visiting the Phoenix area and after reading the trip advisor reviews we thought we would take a chance on this place. For a reasonable admission fee you get a good sized cup of food to feed goats, deer, ostriches and donkeys as well as food for parakeets, lorakeets and rabbits. The animals are well kept and fun to feed and it's really a cool way to spend an hour or so. Kids would really love this place!

Today was incredible !!! What a wonderful healing experience i had with the wolves. My husband & i went to see them in Rimrock. Words can’t express the feeling I had with them. I didn’t want to leave. It was such a beautiful experience. We learned one of the wolves we were with today Kira, i think it was about 3 wks ago, she broke her leg, & needed surgery. She’s still in the healing process & has needed a lot of special care which seems to have put a lot more expense out for the care takers Healing Wolf & her husband. So i said to my husband, I was happy we went today. Just so you know you do have to call & make a reservation first. It was a $40 donation per person for us to see the wolves, but what we got back from being with them is PRICELESS. I can vouch for that today. It’s something i’m going to remember forever. Honestly I can say If you want to experience something truly magnificent you have to go to the Medicine Wheel Lodge in Rimrock AZ & spend some time with these magnificent healing wolves. You won’t be sorry. I promise you.
