The restored steam train is a great experience. it starts from Realp and ends in Oberwald (or vice-versa). there is a parking place in Realp nearby, it costs 5 CHF for the whole day. Before the train ride a small cafe is set up to serve coffee and croissants. the train is wonderfully restored and everyone is nice and helpful. if you ordered the ticket online you can exchange it for an old train ticket at the cashier in Realp before the ride. there is also a small shop in which you can buy some souvenirs. During the ride you are allowed to stay outside as well. there is on half the way a bit longer stop with toilet and food. In Oberwald you have a bit more than one hour and then you can take the train back (or use the normal train or the post bus). The ride is not cheap but worthwhile.

Hey- I used this operation slot during my one week of solo hiking. In addition to traveling through the area to the different mountains and hikes, I went to Corviglia, Piz Nair, Muottas Muragl, Diavolezza,, Morteratch, Corvatsch, Alp Glum and others. Riding the mountain railway trains is an experience and a delight.

This Ubahn is a great connection for all that visit or stay in Serfaus. Regular service, each 10 minutes with enough capacity, even at busiest times. And it keeps expanding

The Rhaetian Railway is a high-performance company in the leisure, commuter and freight transport sector. With its unique mountain routes, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express, it has guaranteed fascinating railway experiences right across the Grisons in Switzerland since 1889. What began in 1889 with the opening of the line from Landquart to Klosters is today a 384-kilometre-long network of lines in the heart of the Swiss high mountains.
