Udaipur, known as the Venice of the East, boasts several sparkling lakes against a backdrop of the Aravail hills. Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir, islands in Fateh Sagar Lake, are the site of Udaipur Solar Observatory and Nehru Garden. Famous palaces include the magical Lake Palace, now a luxurious five-star hotel, and the massive City Palace on Pichola’s east bank, featuring epic courtyards and stunning paintings.

After traveling in India for a short while, I quickly learned that the best way to book a good guide is through a referral from another good guide. Yogendra came highly recommended, and rightly so! Such a wealth of knowledge, friendly, and flexible based on our interests and energy. Udaipur is a wonderful place but it can also be daunting. A guide like Yogendra makes it relaxing and fun.

This journey takes us from Udaipur – the Venice of India – to Delhi, the city with the two faces. Visit the Taj Mahal in Agra and the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur – known as the “Pink City”. We experience the barren beauty of the Thar Desert and experience unity and harmony in the holy city of Pushkar. With good luck we meet in Ranthambhore the shy royal tiger. With one of the highlights, we start the adventure Rajasthan: the 3-day bike trekking from Udaipur to Jodphur. By bike we cross beautiful landscapes, visit traditional villages and conquer legendary fortresses. On guided hikes we discover the Thar Desert and the blue city of Jodhpur. With our yoga sessions you can relax and strengthen body and mind. It will also be exciting during the safari, when we go close to tigers and leopards. At the end of the trip there is time to review the newly gained impressions. On Goa’s dream beaches relax and let your soul unwind by your own.

I did several tours with Sarah and Chalo Travels, 10 and 5 years ago and it was just amazing! Sarah knows a lot about the places your traveling with Chalo and showed us beautiful local places, she and/or her colleagues told us interesting stories about history and traditions and we did a lot of fun activities like hiking, biking, cooking classesi, camel safari. Sarah felt in love with India and you can feel this - I am very impressed by everything she build up with Chalo Travels. You will get a intense and lively impression of India - and once it is to lively for you, Sarah will know some quite places for a little rest ;-) An extra plus: Sarah is a very experienced Yoga teacher, so you can combine your trip with some extra yoga classes!

I spent my first day in India with Gajendra, as he showed me around the wonders of Old and New Delhi. As a 50 year old female exploring India on my own it was a great way to start my adventure. We travelled by all different modes of transport, experienced Indian life ( including my new addiction with Marsala tea ), visited markets, temples, roof tops and shops while all the time talking about life. Gajendra is very knowledgeable and I was especially grateful for his attempt to help me understand the Hindu religion and how it influences so many parts of Indian life. Absolutely a great way to spend a day in Delhi!!
