The world's southernmost city is located on the Beagle Channel, between the Martial Range and the end of the world. It is a key access point to skiing at Cerro Castor and Glaciar Martial, wildlife adventures with penguins and orcas in the Beagle Channel, and Tierra del Fuego National Park. Of course, it’s also the port of call nearest Antarctica, and a unique destination for kayaking, sailing or having a drink in a warm hotel bar.

My husband and I toured the Tierra del Fuego National Park with Sergio two weeks ago and had a wonderful time. He was very knowledgeable and professional and we were happy to be in his company rather than on a bus with 50 other people. Don't have any second thoughts; go with Alma Calma.

Just a heads up, you will see very little penguins, and from far away. The guide explained to us after that you can see the penguins in January, and until then they will hibernate, which is why you can't see them. No worries. On the boat there is a cameraman that takes photos and then tries to sell them (the photos are of an amateur quality). He will get aggressive in asking customers to move out of the way so he can try to take photos in the viewing positions. When reminded that the customers have already paid, and it might be a better approach if the boat circled the island so that everyone can see, he will snarl that he no longer speaks English. Give this a miss unless you are there in January

Ideal private navigation to enjoy the Beagle Channel alone with your family or group of friends. The excursions are carried out with the “KAMS and“ TELIENKA ”yachts, twin boats of 15 meters in length, which due to their dimensions allow a maximum approach to the islands allowing preferential sightings. The maximum capacity per group is 19 passengers. During our tour we visit Isla Alicia, Isla de Pájaros and Isla de Lobos, where we make very close sightings of the fauna of the Beagle Channel. We know the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse built in 1919, a true emblem of the City of Ushuaia. At the end, we disembark at Bridges Island to walk a path of interpretation of flora and birds, telling the story of the Yámanas aborigines. Here are the largest anthropogenic Yámanas shells in the region. It also has a panoramic point from where we can observe the magnificence of the Beagle Channel with the City of Ushuaia in the distance.
Inclusions: Coffee, tea varieties, hot chocolate, the typical Argentine mate and sweet cookies

We booked this tour With a group of fellow cruisers for our day in port. Tour was as advertised although the order of the tour was slightly changed but tour guide explained this. She was very knowledgeable and gladly answered all our questions about life in Ushuaia. The tour allows time to enjoy many sites in the National Park including time for a snack at visitor center. Bus driver was also considerate moving bus so we were exiting or entering in mud due to some rain.
