A replica of the Church Point Lighthouse (Le Phare d'la Pointe) has been rebuilt and will open to the public on Monday, June 26, 2017. It functions year-round as a research centre for the Université Sainte-Anne Biology Department. During the tourist season it will be open as an interpretive centre. Bilingual panels and displays will tell the story of the former lighthouse, Le Petit Bois trails and tides. There will be a Marine Biology room and a Vistas room, as well as an outdoor observation deck on the third floor with panoramic views of St. Mary's Bay (la Baie Sainte-Marie). Visit our website for hours of operation and when self-guided and guided tours are available. Guided tours will also involve walks on the beach including sample gathering, animal and plant identification followed by sample analysis in our miniature lab.

We were driving by this location and decided to drop in to have a look. We drove in and were greeted by the owner of this replica. He was very informative and answered all our questions. The visit was free with a donation box to show one's appreciation for the effort put into this site. We went away pleased that we stopped by.
