Sarasota National Cemetery

Reviewed By XKeysCrusader - Virginia Beach, United States

My wife and I had the honor of visiting this beautiful cemetery while on vacation in Sarasota. Since I am retired from the United States Navy, we always ensure that a portion of our travels involves spending time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces. The cemetery was very clean and organized, and it had a really spectacular Pavillion with cement seating and granite signs that surround the back side with historical pictures and descriptions, really fascinating. The people that we encountered during our visit were overall very kind and thankful for the wonderful VA and private partnership that constructed this valuable tribute to our wonderful Veterans. I would highly recommend a visit to this cemetery even if you don't have a previously deceased relative resting here.

It was our first visit to Faith Lutheran Church yesterday. The Pastor's wife came and introduced herself, along with many members and even visitors. We felt so welcomed and Pastor delivered a very Passionate sermon. His prayers my wife and I found moving and so appropriate for the turbulence we are witnessing with our elected politicians. We will be returning and also getting involved. Thank everyone for making us feel wanted.

St. Isabel Catholic Church

Reviewed By ElaineAndGreg - Chesterland, United States

St. Isabel Church isn't an historic structure in the sense of many churches, but it is an attractive church in a very nice setting close to the J.N. "Ding" Darling Reserve. The church itself is modern, but is a very pleasant setting for mass. The congregation seemed welcoming to me, and the priest gave an excellent, thoughtful, and well-researched homily. Architecturally, I'm not always a fan of modern churches, but I found this pleasing aesthetically and also appropriate for a house of worship. Take a minute and walk around the grounds, which are very attractive. If you are visiting Sanibel Island, this light-filled church is a nice place to attend mass.

The architecture in this church is beautiful! We went to mass here on Saturday and the church is beautiful. What a great, welcoming community they have here too. This will be my go-to Church when I am vacationing anywhere in the area.

Strolling along the streets of Siesta Key Village is lots of fun! We enjoyed the variety of cute shops, the beautiful flowers everywhere and, of course, the incredible assortment of places to eat! It is a very laid back, relaxed and welcoming village. It is also small enough that you can take your time to enjoy it. Of course, it also has the number 1 rated beach in the United States nearby! Siesta Key Village and its beautiful beach are well worth a visit when in the Sarasota area!
