Shree Sadashiva Rudra Temple

Reviewed By Ashapril

The place is just few kilometres from ujire. The temple is situated bit outside the city but the roads are really good. There are many shortcuts that take you to the temple, if you follow Google map. Take the one that has tar road and do not use any other shortcut if you are driving by car. Temple is well managed and neat & clean. There is a naga bana where only men can enter and it gives you goosebumps. The place has some positive energy. There is also a place where sadashiva had appeared several thousands years ago, where you can see two stones. The mud idols are offered here. Overall I had a great feeling after visiting the temple snd I'm planning to visit again if ny wishes are fulfilled. There are only 2 shops, one with sugar cane juice and the other one is tender coconut. Hotels are outside the city. So carry biscuits and other eateries if children are travelling. Dor lunch you can visit Shenoy Restaurant in Guruvayankere, which is situated within 11 kms from this place. Just 500 mtrs from Guruvayankere junction. This is a old hotel but the lunch served is really great. You can enjoy full meals at 50 to 60 rupees. Also they have wide range of snacks and papads.

Kukke Subramanya Temple

Reviewed By GREEDYPIG66 - Mumbai, India

Lord Subrahmanya is the main deity of Kukke Subrahmanya Temple. The main entrance of the temple lies to the east. The devotees will enter from west through main Gopuram and enter the inner quadrangle from the east. There is a pedestal in the centre of the sanctum. On the upper Dias there is the idol of Shree Subrahmanya and then the idol of Vasuki and little lower the idol of Shesha. While entering the inner quadrangle devotees should remove their shirts and banyans. Kukke Subrahmanya is the abode of nagas. Here pooja is offered to lord Subrahmanya merged with serpent king Vasuki. Hence, believed to be the ultimate solace for salvation from any sort of naga doshas. Thousands of devotees come here from far and wide to offer Sarpa Samskara, Nagaprathishta, Ashlesha Bali & other rituals. Lapped in the luxurious abundance of the beauty of nature, the village of Subrahmanya lies in the Sullia Taluk in Dakshina Kannada. The temple is situated in the heart of the village with a sanctity which very few places can boast of. Nature reveals herself in all her unhidden beauty in the rivers, forests and mountains which the temple is surrounded by. Kukke Subrahmanya, one among the seven holy places created by Parashurama is mythologically and historically famous for “Nagaradhane”. Residing with Vasuki, God Subrahmanya showers his divine grace on devotees as the presiding deity of the Kshetra.
