Prehistoric stone markers and monuments dot the landscape of the Isle of Anglesey, serving as stately beacons to visitors. The beaches of Rhosneigr are great for surfing, fishing and diving. The dunes and pebbly shores of Broad Beach span from the village all the way to the Barclodiad y Gawres neolithinc burial chamber. Hauntingly beautiful Beaumaris Gaol will give you chills. Warm up with a pony petting session at Foel Farm Park.

A well-preserved ancient tomb.
An enigmatic and unique round barrow that is fully accessible. Access to the site is via a delightful walkway adjacent to a brook which helps build up the experience of the site. Whilst there is signage on the site, it is well worth reading up on the history prior to your visit. Despite our visit being undertaken during the winter, this did not take away from the atmosphere and sense of wonderment. Car parking is available at a layby opposite the entrance to the walkway, or by a small free nearby car park. Within the free car park, is a monument which is well worth a look as it contains recommendations of other nearby sites of interest. A must see visit.

Advance booking required. A World Heritage Site, Beaumaris Castle has a perfect concentric design, is surrounded by a water moat, and has stunning views over the Menai straits and Snowdonia mountain range. The displayed opening times are our general pattern. Please check the Cadw website for specific times and days, including closures.
we visited at the bank holiday Sunday they had a bouncy castle in the grounds and all families where roaming round letting the kids run free and where all safe . There is a moat around castle the kids loved , great day out and well worth a visit as close to the shops and cafes something for both adults and kids

My partner and I did not plan to visit this Mill but it was on the 34 mile cycle route that we had planned for the day. We had cycled about 30 miles, we had run out of food and drink and the night was quickly drawing in. We were feeling exhausted and a little desperate! At just before 6pm, we came across the Mill and asked the owners if they were still serving tea and cakes. They said that they had finished some time before, but they took pity at the sight of us and very kindly opened back up so we could have some much needed refreshments. The coffee and cake was delicious and we were so grateful to all the staff for making us so welcome in our hour of need. We cycled off and finished our ride with a new spring in our step. We look forward to visiting again in happier circumstances, as it looked an amazing place to explore :)

Well preserved Neolithic burial chamber, only about 50m from the road, just round the corner from Din Lliwig. Well worth the effort to visit.

Really fascinating site and pretty extensive, numerous unearthed stone circle huts placed out across the moors. Affords an extraordinary view across the bay. It would benefit from a few more boards with explanations, but this doesn't take anything away from this magical site There is parking nearby and it is not a long walk before you are in the thick of the site 3 minutes and you are at the first hut circle, its a gradual incline and is very well kept

Really interesting visit. The church and Abbey ruin are super. We walked from the car park to the end of the road - about a mile. The view coming to the end was terrific of Puffin island and the lighthouse. The shingle beach was great and our dog loved it. Nice cafe well worth a visit - real sun spot.

We spent 2 days exploring this beautiful and magical area and loved everything. The farming settlement at the time of the Roman occupation was incredibly well kept and one could easily imagine life there as it was then. Superb!
