Located in the centre of Bangkok, Siam Niramit is a state-of-the-art 2000-seat theatre, open every day, presenting one of the world's largest stage productions. In the grounds of the theatre are three restaurants, and an authentic traditional Thai village that visitors can stroll through and savour the atmosphere of Thai life in bygone times.
This is a wonderful show - slick, spectacular scenery, skilful choreography, superb special effects, stunning costumes ........There are some really beautiful, evocative scenes - the underwater one, the river, hell, storms....The little comedy sketch in the interval was very good and a total contrast to the pprevious scenes. I counted 69 cast members in the final scene, though there may well have been more (also a couple of goats, cockerels!) Lasting about 90 minutes, this is such a worthwhile experience to include in a trip to Bangkok. A wander around the typical Thai village before the show is also very interesting. My only criticism is the poor elephant at the entrance.

Visited on our first night in Bangkok. Booked to have a traditional Thai meal before the show. During this we watched a traditional Thai dance which was a very interesting and insightful experience and really captured the essence of the culture and history of Thailand. I would also like to mention that the food was absolutely delicious and the serving staff were very friendly, approachable, responsive, and welcoming. There was opportunity for photographs with the traditional dancers during and following their performance (this was free of charge). Following the meal we went to the cabaret show and were sat on the front row. We received a complimentary drink of choice for the performance. The cabaret show was a complete contrast to the traditional dance but was even more enjoyable. The show was fun, engaging, and comical but also thought provoking. The dancing is very good, the themes are very diverse, and the costumes were very well made. After the show, there was an opportunity to get photographs with performers and this again was free of charge. For anybody visiting: take this for what it is - it is a cabaret show. There is no singing - it is all lip-synching but the performance is definitely worth seeing. This show is not sleazy but showcases the spirit of Thai people in a jovial and FABULOUS manner. Absolutely loved it and would absolutely go again.
