The Ritz Theatre opened on July 4, 1928, with Wallace Beery in “We’re In The Navy.” It was first located next door to its current site and spent its first five years as a nickelodeon. Today, the Ritz is home to the Theatre of Gadsden, producing some of the world's best shows with a fantastic crew of actors to provide fun and entertainment for the whole family.

Our recent visit to the original birthplace and home of Helen Keller was a reminder of the wonderful story of her life—a life well-lived in helping others. The guide/hostess, Jennifer Elom(?), told the story in an enthusiastic and through manner—very well done. It is a must stop.
