The Okanagan Valley, in the interior of British Columbia, is a popular Canadian vacation destination known for skiing in the winter and watersports in the summer. The area's quaint towns and lush vineyards are connected by a network of clear blue lakes and rivers and surrounded by rolling, sun-dappled hills. Head to Kelowna for one of several wine festivals or to Penticton for the sugary summer Peach Festival. To the south is Osoyoos, home to an arid desert filled with rare plants and animals.

This is an old railway line so the grade is flat or with a minimal hill. The trail is wide and well packed gravel. It runs along the lake the entire way to Oyama.

Harbour House Yoga encourages the community to embrace their mind-body connection and Sattva lifestyle; embodying balanced body, breath and mind.
I am a Peachland resident and yesterday I started the morning with a fabulous yoga session with Rebecca, she guided us through a very gentle practise with candles lite, soft music , and at the end a gentle massage. Later in the afternoon I went back for a amazing reflexology treatment with Yvette, once again the whole atmosphere of the studio is so zen full with soft music, plants and flowers and smell of essential oils. Started out with a cup of Jasmine tea and then the soak in a milk bath with rose petals sea salt and wonderful smelling oil. The massage was incredible, Yvette is so knowledgeable and in tune with her gentle touch and what she can read through working on your feet. I am so grateful for having Harbour House in our beautiful community of Peachland ????❤️????Dee

After packing our car, the four of us and our dogs left for a three day/two night stay at Big White Mountain Resort. During the almost two hour drive from Penticton, the surroundings changed from no snow, a sparkling lake and spring-like weather to a setting where everything was covered in a thick, soft and fluffy blanket of snow. The road had a number of curves and switchbacks but had been cleared of snow making our trip to higher elevations a safe one. As we drove along, we were awed by the spectacular, snow-covered scenery. Although the major activity is skiing (Big White offers 118 runs, serviced by high-speed lifts), there are other fun things to do including snow boarding, snow shoeing, ice climbing, dog sled rides, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snow mobiling, snow coaster and a snow limo ride. Many different types of accommodations are offered including hotels, condos, private chalets, cabins, town houses, bed/breakfasts and hostels. Fireworks happen on Saturday nights.

Had an amazing day at SilverStar Mountain Resort near Vernon, BC recently. It is a wonderful ski hill with a great village and a really good vibe. The snow this year is abundant (and it snowed all day when we were there). Enjoyed delicious pulled chicken poutine for lunch at The Den and skied over 7,000 verticals metres for the day over the varied terrain. Steeps, glades, cruising, etc. The mountain has something for everyone! A beer at Long John’s capped the day off perfectly!

My sister, her daughter and I visited this resort located approximately 35 minutes from Penticton. After parking in a lot within walking distance of the Village, we set out to explore the area. We passed a skating loop and watched people enjoying the ice. We also passed by condos, lodges and cabins as we made our way to the shops and restaurants. Visitors were masked and maintained social distancing. We learned that other winter activities including snowmobile tours, hockey and snowshoeing were available. We watched skiers being pulled up the mountain by a t-bar. We studied a large map of the surroundings showing the 67 ski runs as well as the various ways to access the elevations. As we explored the Village, I was interested in the “hitching post” type of holders for skiers and snowboarders to place their equipment when they wanted to enter a shop or restaurant. Several carved, wooden totems appeared to stand on guard near a picture-taking venue.

Took my husband for a treat, he loves trains. This is a very pleasant and relaxing thing to do. It lasts only 90 minutes and the history and scenery was so interesting. The conductor was funny, knowledgeable and now I might have to admit I like trains too. They provide blankets on board if you get chilly, this train goes all year with special rides at Halloween, xmas etc…. They also have a train robbery and BBQ certain times of the week. No food sold on board but when the train stopped to turn around there was a local lady selling fresh raspberries. This was Oct and they were so big and juicy I couldn’t believe it. Really a great activity for anyone in any age group. Note there are picnic tables at the station where you can sit and eat if you have brought along food.
