Redwood Highway

Reviewed By SailorSuzan - Seattle, United States

I recommend visiting a 'visitor's center' for the Redwood National Park to get an overview of the collection of land parcels that make up the Redwood National and State Parks so that you can appreciate what's left of the giant redwoods. Even along US Highway 101, there are easy on/off to enjoy glimpse of some great groves. Remember there is only 4% of the original forest left - hence the collection of small parcels, but still incredible.

Sequoia Park Zoo

Reviewed By NekoCat - Franklin, United States

Small zoo with very nice facilities, super clean and a fun variety of animals. Highlights; red panda, gibbon, river otters (adorable), red ibis, bald eagles and the most pristine captive flamingos I’ve ever seen. For $10 well worth stopping by for an hour or so.

Lost Coast Trail

Reviewed By ScottM3845

The drive certainly is difficult and long, the hiking arduous and not for the faint of heart. The scenery, the wildlife, the surf, the creeks, the camping, the night sky, the company, the whole experience, is one I will look back on as one of the best in my life. Give yourself time to enjoy the experience, an extra day, if you can. Talk with or reference someone who has done the trip previously and use their suggestions for a wonderful journey into Northern California’s truly wild Lost Coast. The questions below don’t really apply...give yourself 4 or 5 days.
