Heard about this company before just not got around to visiting till yesterday and I'm so glad we did. Originally booked as a treat for the children but I honestly think me and my partner loved the experience just as much if not more .. we had an encounter with the meerkats . Great to be so close and personal able to stroke and touch them to see each little meerkat and their own personally characteristics. Staff are lovely everything from booking to being there ran smoothly happy to answer any questions and so helpful . Have a lovely young and very knowledgeable son who shared many interesting facts about the meerkats and informed us of all the other amazing animals that are available to have and encounter experience with too .. loved it so much so already discussing information for a birthday party! Took many amazing photos videos added my favourite to this review as it makes me laugh soo much each time . Would deffinatly recommend ! Can tell the animals are very well looked after and are more apart of their famliy too then just an unusual pet . Thank you x

I came here with my mum on the 26th August (bank holiday) and when we arrived there was a long queue as you would expect on a bank holiday! They are very organised getting people in! When we got in we went to see the lions first (I brought my camera with me and took lots of pictures of all the animals????) we saw 2 of the 9 lions but I don’t blame them for staying out of the sun! They were so cute! There is a information board telling you about the lions! After this we saw the polar bears and tigers! Then we went to get lunch! We went to ¡Caramba! And we got 2 kids meals I got the chicken nugget meal and my mum got the vegan nugget meal, both were served with potato wedges and a drink of your choice! They were very nice!! After lunch we saw the lemurs, wallaby’s , painted dogs, baboons etc and all of which were adorable!! :) There is lots of things to see and do here and I will definitely be returning and I would recommend to any animal lovers, like myself!!???????? (my photos won’t upload :( so here is the one photo I took on my phone of the camels ???? but they were adorable!)

Always wanted to see a murmuration of starlings, and when we heard it happened here we couldn't wait to go back to this wonderful nature reserve and see it. As always the welcome was friendly, the food in the new cafe great; especially the thrice cooked chips, which are to die for. But the place is the thing. A lovely view over the first lake, sunset over the huge scrapes with thousands of birds. Birds of prey flying over the murmuration. a range of walks with lots to see. Knowledgeable staff. A very tempting little shop. The lot.

The idyllic location of Drakeholes is on the Chesterfield Canal which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest - to you and me this means it's a fantastic place to be at one with nature and spot some wildlife. Check out the tunnel where boats had to be 'legged' through before the days of the engine and for a truly spiritual experience have a drink at the White Swan pub, said to be haunted!

This was our 2nd stay at kingswood lodges and we enjoyed it so much we've booked for a third stay next year. In short the lodges are fantastic. They are spotlessly clean with everything you need in there including a large tv, fully equipped kitchen, on suite bedroom and an amazing sunken hot tub out on the decking. We have stayed in a number of lodges over the years and this is right up there with the best. We didn't play golf, although a free round is included for each guest on each day of your stay, but we did have a few drinks in the bar and Sunday lunch in the on site restaurant which is a must! The food here is home cooked and absolutely superb and is really well priced and good value for money. The staff and couple who run kingswood are really friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. All in all a well deserved 5 stars and we can't wait to go back!
