Authentic feel. Not like most parks that have been Disneyfied. This is a real, brush my bare calves with grasses, nature walk. The only other folks out there were the studious environmental types classifying dragonflies. This trail ain't for the grandparents nor the rambunctious 5 year olds. It is peaceful and deserves quiet contemplation. Trail begins at the backend of the Bluff City Cemetery. There is an 8 car lot to park in. Please take out your trash.

This is a fun and well cared for local park with walking trails, biking, and water activities, as well as a botanical garden. For the area its a great spot to get out for a walk, run, or ride around.

I watched the solar eclipse from here today. The height and the view of the Mississippi River and miles of land across Missouri made for a spectacular show. You can learn some history from plaques about the first capitol of Illinois. Not much ruins but the view and the info adds to the site. The grounds are wonderfully kept. There is also an old cemetery that was transferred from the old Kaskaskia capital that was destroyed by the river. The oldest tomb I found was someone who died in 1809. That area has a lovely slope to walk. We went here the day before the eclipse to scope it out as a viewing spot. We were surprised to realize there is a campground on the site and were lucky to get a spot for our RV. We got electrical, you can fill up with water but there is no sewage spots. I have really enjoyed being here for two nights. It was the perfect spot and I will cherish the memories I made here.

Super staff. Training or just a fun day in the water, Haigh is quiet and peaceful day-dive location. I've done almost all my final training there and have spent my share of time hangin' and chillin' with the huge fish population.

We always enjoy the hometown games played here. Well managed, safe, wholesome and just old-fashioned fun for the family! And affordable!
