This hotel is ideal when you visit the Snow Monkey Park, located a few minute walk to the entrance to the trail that leads to the Snow Monkey Park. The hotel looks western (and its name is "hotel"), but it is actually a Japanese style "ryokan" inside. You can enjoy spacious tatami room with futon. Staff were very caring and polite. Facilities including guest rooms, dining rooms, ONSEN, lounge, and pool are meticulously cleaned. They offer Yukata (Japanese bathrobe twice in a day, one for evening and another for morning). There is a public bus service from a nearby-museum (6-7 minutes walk from the hotel) to Yudanake if you would like to dine outside Kanbayashi.

And we are only a five minute drive from the train station! We also have menus and brochures in English available. Our guide was able book us into using the onsens, as they weren't being used by guests, during our recent trip to see the snow monkeys, and we loved it. Excellent facilities and friendly staff had us wishing we could have stayed a few nights here. I will definitely be staying here the next time we are in town. Highly recommended.

Hotel Omodaka was fantastic! We've been up to Yamanouchi a few years ago and stayed at a much more expensive ryokan, but this trip we were trying to find something that was traditional but a bit more reasonable. I'm SO glad we ended up here! First, the owners were an adorable couple who were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was like staying with family. As per our booking, we called ahead the day before to confirm our reservation and book the free shuttle to the hotel from the station. We arrived a bit early at the station so the lady at the station called the hotel and they were there in minutes. What service! Our room was large, clean, and had the traditional futons and tea service set out when we arrived. We had the private bathroom in our room as well. We discussed what time would work for us for dinner. Note - for the full traditional Japanese experience, DEFINITELY book the dinner and breakfast with your room. It's so unique and high end, and they always use the freshest local ingredients. We donned our yukatas (casual kimono robes provided) and went to our private dinner just down the hall. Trust me, it's a very cool meal full of foods you're not used to eating, but there's so much variety and it's all so well prepared that you will not go hungry. (and please remember that it's rude not to eat your meal, so do your best to ingest as much as is polite). We then headed to the hot springs (men and women are separate). After you change out of your clothes and put them in the bins, the first room you enter is the bath, where you can either sit in the hot pool or use the shower heads around the room (shampoos, soaps and facial cleaners included). We found the pool way too hot, so we used some peel cream on our faces and just sat under the shower heads. Then we realized there were stairs outside that led to the outdoor hot tub! The temperature was much more tolerable out here because of the chilly air, and you get a great view of the town if you stand by the wall. Our room had its own heater and a window that opened and overlooked the river and town. We slept comfortably and soundly. We had arranged for our breakfast at 8am, and they called for us when it was time. We once again donned the yukatas and had breakfast on the main floor with other guests. The breakfast is very traditional Japanese, so if you're hoping for toast and eggs you will be disappointed. But it's all about the experience, and I loved to try what a fancy Japanese breakfast would be like! We then were given a ride in the shuttle to the snow monkey park and made arrangements for a pickup time as well, while they held our luggage at the front desk. After being picked up at the park, we drove back to the hotel, got the luggage and said our goodbyes and then we were taken to the train station. They make it all so easy for you, and their English was pretty good so communication wasn't really an issue (But I recommend Google Translate App for the trip either way). We were treated like royalty and had an amazing trip up to Yamanouchi thanks to the wonderful owners and staff here at Hotel Omodaka! Arigato gozaimasu!

I recommend their udon noodle! Inexpensive. Located in sun valley area, a bit far from other areas but reachable by ski/snowboard. It took two hours by snowboard from Okushiga,( the opposite side), to get here.

The hotel is located just 2 min walk from Yudanaka station. It’s is really convenient for accessing the ski resort at Ryuoo (free shuttle bus) and for visiting the Snow Monkeys. We were really happy with our stay. Yudanaka is a relaxed and fun place with a selection of a few really nice places to eat and really easy to access from Nagano via the station. The accommodation is basic, but has everything you need and is very clean. The Onsen in the hotel is excellent, with indoor and outdoor options. The hotel bar and restaurant offer a great facility. My only complaint was that a western breakfast was only available for 2 of our 4 days, I love Japanese food but just not for breakfast ! There are good options in town though. The staff were really friendly and made us feel so at home. Definitely worth a stay for a relaxing visit.

Spent 2 nights here in Mar of 2019, after a ski trip to Shiga Kogen. Was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the sleep was every night and also how I was totally pampered by the delicious breakfast and dinner they served. The staff were patient and friendly to introduce the various dishes to us during our meals. I would love to visit again the next time I go skiing in Shiga Kogen.

A hotel in a district, overlooking the windy lakeside. In the green period, you can enjoy "campsite" "reserve with food ingredients to lend BBQ" and "boat play". It can also be used as a base for photography and trekking. In the winter period, you can enjoy rafting and snow plays at Kidoike Snow Park, which is located at the hotel. It is 4 minutes by car to "kumanoyu / Yokote mt. ski area", 7 minutes by car to the branch point "Hasuike" to go to Ichinase / Yakebi area, convenient access to each ski resort. As a drive-in, we are open all year long, so we have "hot spring for day-trippers" "cafe" and "souvenir shop", so please do not hesitate to drop in. (Excluding charter days and closed days) There are rooms with pet accompanying, but please be sure to consult as it depends on the time of stay / vacancy situation etc.
When we first went there there were some complications that required a little wait. We were surprised by how apologetic they were as they rushed to get us all free delicious coffee. The persistent kindness and helpfulness of the staff made the stay completely worth it. The hotel itself was a little outdated (about 30 years old) but comfortable and spacious. The Kidoike Onsen is actually 90 years old and has a long history, as you can tell by the old photographs and memorabilia. There is a bus running from the Yudanaka train station to the hotel that also passes through the Snow Monkey Park and the Shibu Onsen area. Because it was the slow season one of the workers offered us a ride to the Snow Monkey Park in his car. He also gave us cookies to eat during the ride. There is a restaurant with food such as pasta, dorias, curry, hamburg, Japanese style lunch sets, pork cutlet and the like. You can also reserve ahead of time a traditional Japanese 'Kaiseki Ryori' dinner course. They also have a gift shop with snacks, ice cream, instant noodles, sake, cookies etc. Our room was clean and quite large, with a view of the lake outside. They provide comfortable robes and slippers that you can wear throughout the entire hotel. All in all we had a great time, the service was phenomenal and treated us exactly like we were family. They were always open to any questions and very knowledgable about the area. 5 out of 5 would recommend.
