Xaman Bar

Reviewed By brieannasoo - Manzanillo, Mexico

Wow, those were some rather harsh reviews... felt I needed to write a review to highlight how rad this place is. The entrance is non-descript, as most cool cocktail bars and speakeasies are. Follow Google Maps to the spot, then go down the stairs and through the doors with no sign on them. Tons of attention to detail and to the vibe here. We went on a Tue night, so there wasn't a DJ this night. They did have an awesome playlist of groovy house and tribal beats though. At one point, one of the employees lit a bunch of plants/woods and smudged the room with a lovely warm and earthy scent. All of the cocktails we tried were interesting and delicious. The presentation was beautiful. They are combining a lot of Mexican ingredients and unusual liqueurs here, so expect unexpected flavours. If you are adventurous, love themed cocktail bars and are into curious experiences, then this is the place for you. I will absolutely return in the future.

9. Vaqueros Bar

Vaqueros Bar

At the top of some desolate, winding stairs, is where you’ll find Vaqueros Bar (formerly known as Q-Eros and Nuevo Vaquero), a watering hole located on the first floor of a early 1960s building with an impressive view of Calle Florencia in Zona Rosa. The club’s windows are at the same height as the tops of the palm trees that adorn the center of the boulevard. In an area known for its hustle and bustle of pushy salespeople, trying to get to enter whatever bar for whatever “drink special,” we appreciate the relaxed service and respectable volume of the music that allows for conversation without feeling the need to shout.
