July 3, 2021 Misti Hsu

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

O'Hara's Restaurant & Pub

Reviewed By denycee64 - Sydney, Australia

Friends told us to visit O’Haras after going to the 9-11 memorial. So glad we did. A great pub with a great atmosphere. Pub recognises the important role that police and the emergency services play/played, with badges from all over the world from police/ emergency services. Make sure to ask to look at the photo album from behind the bar that pays tribute to the heroes of the day and tells the story of O’Haras and the aftermath of 9-11.

Clinton Hall

Located within the bustling downtown Financial District, just a few short blocks from the site of the newly rebuilt World trade Center, Clinton Hall's rustic and cozy 4,000 square foot beer hall is set back slightly from the street at the corners of Rector & Washington. A series of glass doors open onto the courtyard, unifying the indoor and outdoor areas. Within, guests can saddle up to the 20 seat bar crafted from Carrara marble, surrounded by reclaimed brick and wood walls salvaged from the farms of Upstate New York and Pennsylvania or drink with friends at communal tables and benches, all dimly lit by handmade light fixtures and bare Edison bulbs. Clinton Hall offers a diverse selection of 20 draught beers and ciders on rotation, ranging from cask ales to keg-conditioned ales and lagers from the US, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia and beyond. Thanks to an on-site flux capacitor that calibrates nitrogen and carbon dioxide, and adjusts compression of each individual beer to the Brew Masters specs, all suds are served at a perfectly calibrated 34 degrees, every time. Guests can enjoy this unique and eclectic craft ale adventure in the form of pints, half-pints or thirds-of-pints to vary their tasting experience. A full-bar service including seasonal wines-by-the-glass selections is also available. Full lunch, brunch and dinner menus compliment the ever-changing beverage selection, served by a warm, engaging and knowledgeable waitstaff. The gourmet spin on traditional beer hall cuisine features an extensive selection of bratwurst and sausages, served on homemade pretzel buns with creative homemade sides and rosemary-parmesan pommes frites, a signature shortrib burger and Prince Edward Island Mussels steamed in Wit Bier. Designed by Walsh Walsh Studio, an architecture and design firm founded in 2009 by Victoria Partridge Walsh in 2009, the venue is a joint venture between Merchants Hospitality, a full service hospitality company behind the brands SouthWest NY, Merchants NY, Merchants Cigar Bar, Neelys Barbecue Parlor, Merchants River House, Quality Burger, Pound and Pence Pub & Restaurant, Oaxaca Mexican Grill and most recently Black Hound, among many others, and The Lure Group, the masterminds behind Beekman Beer Garden, Governors Beach Club and Slate in NYC.
