Liam and Sylvie are the loveliest land lords and couldn’t do more to make people feel welcome. They were so nice to us and our puppy when we first got her, even bringing their lovely dogs down to meet her. Fab selection of gins too! Only a shame we haven’t been able to get a table recently due to covid measures but we look forward to returning. We are so lucky to have such a great local.

The Belle Vue is a quaint back street pub and you probably won't find many pubs that have such a relaxed, familiar atmosphere that feels like you want to make it 'Your Local' instantly. The Belle Vue also is one of the few surviving Live Music Venues in the Wycombe area, which hosts many popular events: Saturday Night Live Music Jam Sessions & Open Mic Quiz Night Art Exhibitions
Fantastic live bands with some good Real Ale and a great crowd. Worth A Visit to see some really good bands on Friday And Saturday Nights.

A 10 minute walk from the centre of Buckingham takes you to the town's oldest pub. A cosy atmosphere is enhanced by a real open fire as well as a new log burner in winter. As you would expect from a free house, the Mitre has changing and interesting beers, featuring guests from all over the UK as well as local breweries such as Blackpit. Major sporting events are shown on the five large-screen Sky and BT TV and, if games clash, different matches can be shown at once. The pub also has a beautiful new piano which landlord Pete will regularly jump on to sing a few songs and many locals also play. Pete bought the pub in May 2017 and since then the toilets have been refurbished and a new oak bar and a new cellar chilling system installed with all new pipework. The land behind the previous garden has been extended and re-landscaped.
If you are ever in Buckingham looking for a good pub to go to it is worth stretching ones legs and make your way to The Mitre. Proper beer, guest ales, open fires, large garden, and a great atmosphere year round. Well worth it.

Please see our main listing on the Trip Advisor site under "The Oak and Saw Village Inn" where there are many, many more reviews for us along with information on menus, opening times and current photos!
It’s always great coming to this pub (the only one in the village!), and today was no exception. We’d been on a countryside walk (with a friend from outside the area), and wanted to take her somewhere special. We had a nice warm welcome, and it was lovely for us to sit outside on the sunny terrace and enjoy an afternoon drink. It’s such a nice atmosphere surrounded by flowers, and the well-kept garden. We were also very impressed with the piped music too - 70s classics at a low volume, which we all really enjoyed. It’s so easy to spoil a nice pub with awful music, so well done whoever chose it! Looking forward to coming back again soon.
