We stumbled on this bar after wondering around San Sebastian late in the evening and it was a very memorable find! My wife and I are both whiskey lovers, and the selection here did not disappoint. We tried a few scotches (Jura if I recall) and then I noticed a bottle of Blanton's Gold edition tucked away behind the bar. Well, three pours later (!) we were having an especially fantastic evening. The pours were extremely generous to boot! After a few hours sipping, laughing, and enjoying a few bar snacks (unexciting), we met the owner. His english was limited, our spanish was limited, but we had a great time joking about bourbon, US politics, and a variety of other topics. When we decided it was time to go, he asked us for our names, which we wrote out on a napkin. He indicated that we should stay seated and hurried to the back. When he came back, he brought us each a "Diploma de Catador de Whisky" (i.e. taster of whiskey) that looks quite official but is clearly just a nice marketing device for his bar. Still, we loved it, took them home, and proudly display them next to our bourbon collection. It was a great night. But about those great pours...the bill was a lot higher than we were expecting! ;) Oh, well - we paid for some awesome bourbon, have a great souvenir, and a great story. Cheers!
