Wuxi (Chinese: 无锡) is an old city in southern Jiangsu province, China. The city borders two other large cities, Changzhou to the west and Suzhou to the east, and borders Zhejiang Province as well in the south. It also covers a coastline of the Yangtze River in the north and two separate coasts of Lake Tai. Wuxi is well known for being one of the birthplaces of China's modern industry and commerce, as well as the hometown of many important businessmen who have played essential roles in building commerce in Shanghai since the early 20th century.

This is a hidden-away gem in Wuxi, and definitely worth the visit. The gardens were large and beautiful. History is alive with nearly every step you take. We did have an English-speaking guide which was important and was able to point out the highlights we might have otherwise missed before exploring on our own. This spot is very quiet and tranquil and provides a break from the large crowds we always seemed to encounter.

Surrounded by Lihu Lake on three sides, one of the famous classical Chinese gardens features artificial bridges and pagodas dotted around small fishponds.

A local from Wuxi gave the tour, and was very proud of her city and the location. This was considered a small city, 3+ million people, but that is considered small by China city standards. There is a nice lake at the city park with nice walking paths.

simply put in one word - the water show and tribute to buddha is amazing. there is so much to see at this park. you can easily spend 1 whole day here. although this isn't everyone cup of tea, but is still a beautiful place to visit. fun fact - at the foot of buddhas foot there is a gift shop. beautiful views from the top of the statue. food and restrooms are located through the park. don't miss the water work buddha show.
