Excellent hiking trails - Hiked the Rainbow Falls 1st day - very nice, scenic, runs along a river and finishes at a nice waterfall - rougher trial - took 4 - 4 1/2 hrs round trip - did grotto falls second - much smoother trial but steeper than rainbow - took maybe 3 hrs round trip - both excellent - very scenic would return

Beautiful property and animals! Everything is well kept and the birds are beautiful. I love how they are saving the birds from abusive or homes that cannot care for them anymore. I also loved the scriptures through out the park and the displays of Christ in the prayer garden. The babies were so cute and sweet to hold! Pick one out and you can take take it home! Precious was kind to let me hold her as well. One sang Rocky Top to us and one whispered “whatcha doin?”! Lovely gift shop as well. Definitely wear comfortable shoes that you can walk in for a few hours!

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN, is literally teeming with life - over 10,000 exotic sea creatures in 350 individual species. There are more fish in this aquarium than there are people living in the entire town of Gatlinburg!

We were a little wary of this given the expensive entrance fees but our son had his heart set on going so we did and I am so happy we did - it was absolutely worth the cost. You see so many amazing animals, all the little info placards have some truly fascinating facts/trivia, and the big shark tank/moving cave was an amazing experience. I loved seeing all the "weird" animals that fit with Ripley's brand (Mantis Shrimp, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, etc) and my son watched the penguins for a good 20 minutes - only bummer was the tubes to "get in" with them were blocked but with Covid I 100% get why/agree with that choice. Also it's a little thing but I really appreciated that the gift shop had a big selection of books - so many places just have toys/candy/clothes (which makes sense) so it was really great to get to buy my son some books about all the crazy sea creatures he had just seen.

Rainforest Adventures

This was a great way to fill an afternoon. We visited on the off season so there was not a large crowd. Plenty of room to view all the animals and take our time Most of the animals are indoors so it's a great activity for a rainy day. They do have an outdoor area with goats and donkeys. The goats are entertaining.... be sure to buy a bag of feed. Very nice gift shop, plenty of parking. We bought our tickets through groupon and received a good deal that included a bag of feed with each ticket purchased.

Extraordinary Experience!! Went for our family retreat (ages 1 year -56years old) and everyone had a great time!! Horseback riding was amazing and loved how they accommodated the youngest grandchildren on the horse with the front bumpie. The petting farm/zoo was the favorite part of our trip and literally the reason why we are planning our next retreat to this area. Everyone had a lot of fun, truly the highlight of our trip! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Went August 2019 but was not an option date below :/
