I just spent the day at Zoo Leipzig with my 3 daughters, ages 10, 13, and 17. What a fantastic place! It took us about 6 hours to get through the entire zoo. As with most city zoos, space is at a premium, but this zoo is laid out well, the animals seem very happy, and there are multiple viewing opportunities at each exhibit. Nearly every single plaque is fully translated in English too, which is really great. Also, there are many Coronavirus precautions in place. Lots of sanitizing stations, and masks are required in all the buildings. Definitely a great way to spend the day! Highly recommended!!

Only a few minutes from Dresden’s city center, it becomes obvious that the art of gardening and landscaping is of great importance to the Saxony’s state capital still today. With its Grand Garden, Dresden has one of Europe’s most important gardens.
The gardens are very extensive and the miniature railway is worth a ride. You could easily spend an entire day here, and the train makes it easier to get around (assuming that you visit on a day when it is running).

What a wonderful and beautiful, budget friendly park. The "estate" is massive, with small areas of woods, lazy brooks, and winding foot paths set among wide expanses of trimmed grass fields. There were visitors on bikes, others with dogs, and the paths were more than wide enough to accomodate everyone comfortably. The place is so big, almost all of your time can be spent privately, with your own group, chatting with friends, without the risk of bothering anybody else. The property fits closely with how I imagine old the English estates, as presented in shows like Downton Abbey. The manor is a massive, ornate structure surrounded by lakes with swans slowly floating along. The place is truly picturesque. There is an option to enter the manor, and masks are required. Visitors will also find some gift shops and even a place to buy a coffee or soft-serve ice cream. Parking was reasonable, but there were very few spots available. People traveling during peak seasons will probably need to park elsewhere and then walk onto the estate.

The temptation of a special experience - a bicycle ride along the Elbe. The Elbe cycle path is one of the most attractive and varied cycling routes in Europe. The region between the North Sea, Saxon Switzerland and Bohemia is distinguished by multifaceted landscapes, exciting history and a unique cultural heritage.
