If you're looking for some great Florida beaches but aren't necessarily interested in a mega-resort or theme park atmosphere, Pensacola might just be the place for your perfect weekend. Home to Gulf Islands National Seashore, the city offers some of the best fishing and boating in the area. Inland, canoeing enthusiasts won't want to miss the beauty of the Blackwater River. Closer to town, the city has a proud military heritage, which can be seen at attractions like the National Museum of Naval Aviation and the Pensacola Naval Air Station.

Pensacola Beach is the main attraction on this island.
The drive between Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach is a wonderful and restful cruise along the coast. Pull over into the access points and you have miles of white sand and green water with hardly any people. If people are what you want, go to Pensacola Beach or Navarre Beach. For history.... Fort Pickens is your place. Santa Rosa Island is a great place to get away

A historical area with beautiful beaches.
The BEST beaches in the state as far as I am concerned. Plenty of parking, clear water and miles of gulf to walk or swim. There was plenty of room to social distance. If you come in from downtown Pensacola you will be charged $1 to get across the bridge.

From the Ground Up Community Garden - What began in 2015 as an initiative of Innisfree Hotels’ Corporate Social Responsibility Program has blossomed into a true community hub of music, arts, education, and sustainability. The garden’s main focus is in educating area youth the importance of growing their own food.

The beach is amazing . The sand is white. The water is clear. The facilities include restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and parking. The beach is adjacent to facilities. We used the National Pass to visit the Gulf Islands National Seashore and the Langdon Beach. We spent about three hours at Langdon.

Home to one of the purest sand-bottom rivers in the world, this 200,000-acre park offers canoeing, camping and nature trails.
We parked in a lot for $4 and used a nearby company to take us up the river. We floated back down on tubes. The river and it’s beaches are beautiful. Back at the parking area the restrooms are clean and useful. It’s a great place to spend the day!

My husband and I went there this week. Has a cute visitors center and it was a nice easy hike which was well maintained wooden path. There were two nice lookouts as well.

We were pleased to find this nice beach near Big Lagoon State Park, where there is lots of residual damage from Hurricane Sally in September 2020. It was free entry for us because we are OLD and have a lifetime National Parks pass. Otherwise you have to pay at the gate. We rode our bikes past the pavilion where the road is open only to foot and bike travel. You can have your own section of beach out there! If you time it right, the Blue Angels might fly overhead.
