Paphos, the capital of western Cyprus, has some serious historical clout. Site of the vast fourth-century BC Tombs of the Kings, set high on a cliff above the sparkling sea, as well as a dramatic Byzantine castle and fine mosaics, it's also known as the birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite. The population of 27,000 is swelled by a summer influx of beach-bound English, German and Scandinavian visitors. A beautiful old harbor awaits, while modern hotels and restaurants stretch along the promenade.

A getaway off the beaten track - not many people seem to be visiting and giving it the attention the place certainly deserves. It seems only some tours drop in, but only at certain viewpoints and only for a couple of minutes. But give it more time, walk along the coast starting either from the Agios Georgios village or Kafizis. There are soem natural pools where even with a bit rough sea you can enjoy a swin, even with children. The views are amazing, so is the silence (on most of the parts), the rock formations and the colour of water.

Set in the harbour area and adjacent to the municipal baths beach this is a really nice place to chill. If you love sunbeds and sun with the sound of the sea crashing into walls then this is the place. Good amenities with toilets near by and a vast array of restaurants for a lazy lunch. You can even get drinks served to your bed. Very comfortable beds with large mattresses priced at 2.50 a bed / parasol A lot better than SODAP Beach

In the main centre of Pathos there is no beach but there are steps into sheltered sea areas and showers and changing rooms. Walking along the coast a bit you can find lovely sandy beaches and also sun beds for hire..

Minthis is a beautiful and challenging course that winds its way past a 12th-century monastery with breath-taking views of the Cyprus Troodos Mountains and beyond. The 18-hole championship course boasts outstanding holes where views and vistas are a distinctive feature, organically following the natural undulations of the topography, looping past water features and ancient groves, with hundreds of olive trees, fruit orchards and grapevines with the mountains in the distance beyond. Designed by legendary golf architect Donald Steel in 1994 and renovated by renowned course designers Mackenzie and Ebert, the course is a flawless example of their philosophy that golf courses should fit into the terrain, be in keeping with their setting and focus on the details.
From the moment you enter the pro shop you are greeted with wonderful, helpful staff. The guys in the caddie shop couldn't be more helpful and welcoming, nothingbisctoo much trouble. I love playing up here because the greens are in wonderful condition and everyone you come across on the course is so welcoming. Over the many years I have played up here I have nothing but great memories, from all the staff but also the panoramic views you are afforded on your round. The bar and restaurant has a wonderful ambience and the food is also superb. You will certainly not be disappointed if you decide to pay Minthis Hills a visit.
