I must say that it was a lifetime experience staying at the ecotourism resort in the midst of the jungle and hearing the jungle sound throughout the night. And to top it up watching the sun rise in the valley together with the magnificent view of the gorge. The resort is managed by group of local women who took care of the guests like their own family and cooked delicious food as per the wishlist of the guests. Hats off to their hospitality. A must visit

Hirakud is the longest earthen Dam in the world and stands across the mighty river, Mahanadi, in the Sambalpur region of Odisha. The main dam has an overall length of 4.8 kms spanning between two hills. The dam is flanked by 21 km of earthen dykes on both the left and right sides. The dam and dykes together measure 25.8 kms. It also forms the biggest artificial lake in India. There are two observation towers on the dam one at each side. One is Gandhi Minar and the other one is Jawahar Minar. Both the observation towers present extensive views of the dam and lake.

It was a great place to visit since my childhood. The most advantage of Nandan kanan over other zoo are it's build and located inside of a forest, so the animals are more or less enjoying forest alike atmosphere . Extremely big with respect to the area . However mismanagement is there every where. Need to be taken care with extremely special care to preserve this gem

74 feet tall state of Lord Hanumanji towers above everything else. Beautiful, serene, divine. A park with many temples dedicated to different Hindu Gods.

Well, for nature and wildlife lovers and no-lovers also, Kuldiha Widlife Sanctuary is good place. Start from either Balasore/Panchaligeswar, and spend one whole day within the forest. During evening time, try to spend some time near Kuldiha Forest Ranger Office to take a chance to get our National Animal. Luckily you can see deer, elephant, peacock, horbill, bison etc. The journey within the forest will be adventouros and walk to waterfalls may lead to a sudden visit to tiger. The greenery will melt you if you are adventorous. We went there in March,2019 and it was somehow hot but manageable.

Even a few decades back, a visit to the ancient Shiva temple on the Dhabaleswar island in the midst of the waters of the mighty Mahanadi river in tiny ferries was an adventure to remember. Now visiting the temple is a simple crossing over Odisha's first hanging foot bridge. A nominal fee of ₹2 is charged for using the bridge. During the monsoons, the feel of the gushing waters of the Mahanadi below one's feet is an experience by itself. The temple for Shiva in the form of Dhabaleswar (White God) dates back to the 11th century and is highly revered amongst locals. Those with time in hand can opt for boating over to the island. The temple is situated about an hour's drive from Bhubaneswar (30 km) and can be clubbed with a day tour of Cuttack. It involves more than average walking.

Waterfall is situated near to the national highway, easily accessible. It is a good picnic spot, mainly got crowded in winter during new year celebration. Waterfall height is around 25m and very beautiful, but you can not take a bath as it is baricated by the administration. You have to buy ticket to visit the waterfall, parking place is also available.Near to the waterfall, a small park is there, you can enjoy boating there

Debrigarh is 21kms from burla. The driving route from Hirakud Dam to Debrigarh is awsome. The road is near to the dam, so view is awsome. Spotting of wild life is gurantted if you are visiting debrigarh. Now the sanctuary authorities have stopped private vehicle inside the park, instead they are offering SAFARI vehicle having 8 seats, cost-rs2000 per trip for around 3hours. During our Safari, we spotted deer, sambar, wild boar, bosin or gaur, lots of peacocks and koel birds. Pease take food items with you, as you will not find any eatables there.Cottages near to the park is very costly, around rs5000 per day for double sharing room. so plan your trip accordingly.

Eco retreat opened by the Odisha govt on the beach near Konark. Excellent concept of staying in tents on the beach with all modern amenities but in an eco friendly way. There are cycles for taking and many water sports. Delicious food
