In 1958, China attempted to invade Kinmen which was then known as Quemoy. The invasion almost sparked World War III. The invaders were repulsed by the Taiwan forces, led by President Chiang Kai-shek. Kinmen is 10 km (6 miles) from Shamen, on the Chinese mainland. You can hire a telescope; you can clearly see people moving around on the mainland. Kinmen is a small island, around 150 square kms. it's hard to believe that how this tunnel can be built. so amazing. highly recommend to visit this island (little Kinmen). you have to take domestic fly from Taipei to Kinmen (50mins)and then take ships (30mins) here. It's very convenient. So wothy!!!!! unforgettable sunset and more gold beaches with no people there!!! I can occupied a beach almost everywhere on the small island 這景點太不簡單 很難相信當時的人怎麼造的 強烈推薦大家來金門玩一定要來小金門（列嶼） 這邊的感覺更舒服 更寧靜 好放鬆 還有好多無人海灘 棒到爆炸 夕陽超美啊
