Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest big cat sanctuaries in the United States. The non-profit USDA licensed refuge, founded in 1992, has grown to become one of the Top 10 attractions in Arkansas and the most popular in Eureka Springs. Lions, cougars, leopards, tigers, and bears are displayed in large natural habitats surrounding the main enclosures and gift shop. Each animal has its own story/history plaque for self-guided tours and over night accommodations are available via the Safari Lodge, RV park, and camping facilities. Guided tours are available from 10am until 3pm.
The best wildlife refuge experience we have had! The staff were extremely knowledgeable and very kind, you can tell that they truly love what they do and take great care of all of their wildlife which included bears, big cats, a few smaller species, and a very spoiled monkey! The “retired” age animals were especially well cared for, love what they are all about and what they do for these beautiful animals!

Botanical Gardens on the beautiful White River and a stop on the Trail of Tears. 39 million gallon a day bottomless spring. Museum, and two short very informative films Bluff Shelter listed on the national register of historic places
We visited Blue Springs on June 12. The springs were flooded: completely under water (you could sort of see the stone outline under the water), and the walkway around the springs was closed. You could still walk the higher boardwalk around it. Despite the flooding, it was still absolutely gorgeous. The water had a greenish tinge. You could see fish swimming. The gardens were beautiful. I didn’t expect them to be as extensive as they are. I got a lot of really great pictures. The Woodland Gardens were very peaceful. Plus the ramp is much easier going up than having to climb steps. The drive up to the Blue Springs Heritage Center is very scenic. They also have a nice gift shop.

We had a blast here! The cave was very cool and fun to walk through. Only downside of it is that you have to wear headphones and it’s all recorded. Unable to ask questions during the tour or have a personable guide. The price was good as well!! However, axe throwing was our very favorite part of our whole trip. We did half an hour and it was amazing. Highly recommend.
