We expert for cooking classes,if you like to enjoy our foods come & see the difference.
This was up there with the best evening we had in Sri Lanka. An incredible chef/host who taught us so much. We learnt how to use different pressings of coconut milk from a fresh coconut and then made 4 different curries (red lentil, pumpkin, aubergine and green bean) along with coconut roti and dip (all vegetarian). Cooking lasted around 90 mins and then you sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labour. By far the tastiest thing we've eaten all trip! You have all the recipes emailed to you, and we can't wait to go home and start cooking them ourselves. Also just great cooking tips in general. Please don't miss out.

We participated in the cooking class and garden tour at Ella Spice Garden and would highly recommend this activity to others looking to spend an afternoon preparing a traditional Sri Lankan meal. Our hosts communicated well with us, kept us engaged in the cooking class and lead us in the preparation of two curries, dahl and coconut sambol. We were all encouraged to participate and although this is more of an observational class rather than an immersive participatory cooking class, we feel that the instructions given during the class along with the notebook provided to jot down recipes and notes, will allow us to reproduce these recipes at home. The Spice Garden shop is also open at the end of the meal which gave us a great opportunity to purchase ingredients that are difficult to procure once home.

Went for a nice walk and got some great views of the valley and the water falls. You can buy cold water along the way at reasonable prices if you don't want to pack water with you.

Ella rock roughly takes you 1.5 hours to climb. If you're fit and healthy it can be climbed in a shorter time. It really is a beautiful hike, taking you through long grass, bridges, beautiful forests. There are many routes to hike, and you can get guides who will take you as well. The views once you reach the top are excellent. Definitely a must do when you reach Ella!

Ideal place to have a cave adventure. It’s bit scary sometimes when you go down. Must take a guide with you. It’s impossible to find your way on your own. The initial bit was the toughest as it is a direct descend for about 50m. Guide puts a rope also to help the climb down. There after the path is fine and you’ll be amazed by the size of the cave system. The initial half is very muddy and filled with bat poop. You must strictly follow the foot steps of the guide since if something goes wrong no one knows where you’ll end up. Within about 45mins you can reach the pond. And you will be out of words once you see the crystal clear water surface. Do not try this if you are faint hearted as it is a very mysterious feeling you get once you are inside. Bathing at the pond is also not recommended as there are plenty of unknowns and if something happens you are 200 ft directly below the surface and no one would be able to reach out to help you in a short time. Be careful and focus on your path and you will be quite fine. Must do thing in Sri Lanka for sure.
