This state-owned commercial stud farm also incorporates the world famous Japanese Gardens and wild Irish St Fiachra's Garden as well as the Irish Racehorse Experience, Living Legend's, Gift Shop and restaurant. It is also home to some of Ireland's most famous racehorses.
A very interesting place, educational as well as a place to enjoy peaceful family time. 2 for 1 ticket price through the Irish Heritage leaflet made the cost exceptional and well worth the visit. The horses are so well looked after, the information is interesting and the grounds are immaculately kept. The Japanese garden is an added bonus, peace and tranquility await, a visual piece of art in every corner, vibrant colours abundant in every space, purity at its best! The cafe is lovely, serving delicious food, especially the cake/dessert selection. Worth a visit if in Co Kildare.

We found ourselves with time on our hands in Leixlip waiting to check in to the wonderful Becketts Hotel. To put in time we went for a walk along the Rye River, quite a spectacular developed walkway. When we got back to the village we popped in to the Court Yard Hotel for lunch. The lunch was a wee bit undistinguished (a vegetarian salad and a Caesar salad, both a bit unrefined) but the court yard setting was perfect and more than made up for the food. We found shelter from the blazing sun and good hospitality - they had Peroni beer on tap which was just what the doctor ordered. The girl who served us was very nice and very prfessional. By the time we had lunch we felt refreshed and ready to take on the world again. What a lovely village and the meeting of the Rivers Rye and Liffey is quite a magical spot.

We really enjoyed our visit this morning to this fabulous Heritage Park. I visited with my two small toddlers (12 months and 2.5) and was a big hit. Loved the train ride, great playground, cute farm animals, lovely woodland walk and plenty for adults too. Didn't go to the cafe so can't comment on that. Plenty of space/picnic tables. Would recommend!

Great fun for all the family, excellent value for money, would recommend for a family day out. Wooden maze was the winner
