The landscape that inspired Anne of Green Gables entices legions of lovers to Canadaâs smallest province. Peaceful P.E.I. is a slow paced haven, full of distinctively Maritime delights. Red sandstone cliffs rise above gentle beaches. Lonely lighthouses dot rocky bluffs. Deserted trails beckon for romantic roaming.

My husband and I were celebrating our 17th Anniversary and he wanted to drive down some old historical roads in PEI from the airport on our way to our Airbnb. We happened to drive by Island Winds and decided to stop in because I had told him before we left home that I wanted to buy him a wind chime from PEI. We knocked on the door and the owner’s son answered and we went inside. It’s a cool little workshop with wind chimes hanging everywhere and some custom glass pieces you can substitute into them that hang from the bottom. They are tuned to different keys and come in different woods. We chatted for a while with the guy who was very nice and then headed out since we just arrived and wanted to get to the room and rest. Throughout the rest of our visit we would see wind chimes all throughout the island in various shops and they were all from Island Winds. On our way back to the airport on our way home we stopped back by the shop to buy the wind chime directly from the small business. We paid in cash and had $5 Canadian leftover but wanted some coins for our girls at home and the man was so nice to exchange it for us and explain about a loony, and a twony, and why there are no pennies. I highly recommend going to this shop. Every time I hear the wind chime I feel the island calling to me.
