This is off the beaten path in the industrial section. There are lots of lovely items for sale and the prices are reasonable for blown glass. You can sit and watch glass being blown. They make it look so easy.

You have to go to this gallery if you are in The wildlife photographs by Jason Bumtle are absolutely incredible, as he is an award winning wildlife photographer. If it’s not too busy, get the salesperson to tell you the stories behind each one. There is a whole series of polar bear photos that are amazing. Each one is unique and so wonderful to see! We spent over an hour in the gallery and loved every minute. The photos are sold in a variety of sizes and the smaller ones are very affordable. The bigger ones, which are really the best, cost a lot more, $500 and up. But even if you don’t buy, you need to see these photographs!

Carter-Ryan Gallery And Live Theatre

The Carter-Ryan Gallery is home to the work of Indigenous Visual Artist, Jason Carter. His bright paintings and bold soapstone sculpture have been featured at Canmore's Main Street location since 2012. Last year, a second location opened in Banff. Visit either location to experience one of Alberta's most acclaimed visual artists. Gallery by day and at night, the Carter-Ryan Gallery in Canmore comes alive with live musical theatre all summer long. Comedy, musical theatre and history coming to life...it's all here surrounded by original art. A truly memorable destination.

Canada The Musical is super fun, engaging, and brings back many great memories. I would highly recommend going, and I look forward to attending more performances.

Angelo and his great team at Art Country Canada gallery are the best! I was so impressed with his friendliness and my first phone purchase that I have been back to buy more artwork from them. He even bent over backwards to work with me to exchange a canvas that I decided I wanted in an even bigger size, even though I live in the U.S. and it required shipping back and forth. Artwork is well packaged to protect it and delivery takes only a matter of days. I would definitely recommend Angelo and his gallery to anyone looking for the best prices on great artists delivered by awesome friendly professionals!

Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies

The Whyte Museum inspires discovery and wonder where people and the Rocky Mountains meet. The Museum's founders, Peter and Catharine Whyte, were local artists and philanthropists who wished to offer a place where people could gather and appreciate the culture and beauty of the area. Explore the culture shaped by this mountain landscape through our exhibitions, events, heritage homes, archives, library and museum shop. Our programming is made possible through generous support from you - the Museum's Members, donors and sponsors.

The combination of art - mix of pictorial and impressionist, I suppose - and especially the museum, with the history of the railroads, and the arrival of settlers, inter-action with First Nations, and arrival of Chinese and East European workers, is told very well and with examples of original clothes, documents etc throughout. Do go!
