Northern circuit for a week and Zanzibar for a week. Despite having limited reviews, I decided to go for Raja Tours since it was very attractively priced and I was impressed by their quick response and helpful attitude on emails. While we were on the trip, the quality was exactly as promised - from our guide to hotels to food! I would highly recommend them if you're planning to visit Tanzania and / or Zanzibar.

Ruaha is believed to have high concentration of elephants than any national park in East Africa. It is also a place where, magnificent mammals like Kudu (both Greater and Lesser), Sable and Roan antelopes can easily be spotted in Miombo woodland. The male Kudu have beautiful spiraled horns while male Sable antelope have impressive curved horns. The park is also a habitat for endangered wild dogs. Other animals in the park include lions, leopards, cheetah, giraffes, zebras, elands, impala, bat eared foxes and Jackals.

My friends and I planned for a trip to Tanzania. After thorough searching, we finally settled to go with SG Tanzania tours. This is best decision we ever made. We contacted SG tours via mail and within few minutes, we had the response from the manager Supati detailing every aspect of the safari. We choose five days in Tanzania as we had limited time. three days prior to entering Tanzania, we did Amboseli National park via Leisure Escapes safaris ltd, (another excellent company i recan recommend if travelling to Kenya). From Amboseli, we were driven to Kenya Tanzania border and after the immigration and covid 19 process, we were met with ever smiling ad cheerful driver guide Saluu. He is the best and highly recommend him. We went to Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngororngoro, Lake manyara and finally ended our safari back to Kenya with drop off at Namanga border. During the entire safari, Saluu kept us busy telling us facts and tourism in Tanzania. Every wild animals we encountered mattered a lot and Saluu guided us very professionally. If we had ample time, we would have spent more time in Tanzania. I highly recommend this company!!! Bravo to Saluu and the organizing manager Supati.

Hamad was our tour guide and driver. He picked us up at 4:30 am to avoid traffic as much as possible. We had breakfast on the way which was super delicious: banana soup with beef. The drive and check-in process at the reserve we’re smooth. He got our tickets, requested our lunch from the menu and we were set on our way. Considering it’s COVID times, we were only a party of 2 and I think I speak for my friend and I when I say that it was an amazing trip. Hamad was very knowledgeable about the animals, their ways and their habits, not to mention a very skilled driver in the mud. He welcomed our questions and spoke really good English and saved no efforts in scouting the animals. He said that he had a 20+ experience in tourism and I believe it! ????

Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest national park. It’s also the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. With almost guaranteed wildlife sightings, it makes an ideal safari destination for those without much time. Since the completion of the paved road connecting the park gate with Dar es Salaam, Mikumi National Park has been slated to become a hotspot for tourism in Tanzania. Located between the Uluguru Mountains and the Lumango range, Mikumi is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and only a few hours drive from Tanzania’s largest city. The park has a wide variety of wildlife that can be easy spotted and also well acclimatized to game viewing. Its proximity to Dar es Salaam and the amount of wildlife that live within its borders makes Mikumi National Park a popular option for weekend visitors from the city, or for business visitors who don’t have to spend a long time on an extended safari itinerary.

We booked a customized safari - 2 days in Mikumi for animals watching with a overnight stay in a lodge inside the park - 1 day Mikumi town - 1 day hiking in Moro Goro For a fair price. We had a fantastic trip! Abraham took great care of us, we learned a lot about the Tanzanian culture and history, as well as the current "state" of the country. We saw lots of animals, we have great memories to take back home. The trip itself was very well organized, we felt very safe (even though Tanzania seems to be a safe country anyway). Bohobe has a "fair" approach to business and you can see the money is "redistributed" in the local economy, which is highly appreciated. Abraham is a local, speaks perfect English so the communication was easy and without misunderstandings, which makes it possible to have really interesting conversations, not just superficial animals descriptions. We heard they also have German and French speaking staff. Mikumi might not be the most popular park in the country but we were happy to go there and we saw plenty of animals. It's just a few hours drive away from Dar Es Salaam, which allows for a combined Safari + Zanzibar stay. We for sure highly recommend Bohobe and hope to stay in touch with Abraham!

TLDR; this is a tremendous experience for the adventurous traveler; if you have an open mindset about meeting new people, enjoy hiking and the outdoors, and don't mind an occasionally rough ride, this is an incredible trip and well worth your time. Having never traveled outside the US, I wanted to go big on my first solo trip with the 62-day excursion from Pretoria to Nairobi. Since it was such an extensive trip, I was looking for the most value for my time, based on price, activities, and safety. I backpack often, so beyond basic comfort was not a priority for me, which turned out to be a good mindset to adopt since we camped nearly the entire trip, & rode in a truck with no AC (Namibia gets hot!). Tip - be ready to retrieve the rain fly for your tent during unexpected 3 AM rain showers! However, nearly all of the sites we stayed at had the option to upgrade from camping to comfortable indoor accommodations, which was a nice option to take advantage of occasionally. Once we reached our site for the night, we began our daily rotating duties, which included helping to cook, clean the truck, and do dishes, which I think added to the experience and helped bond our fellow tourists. Traveling solo, I felt safe at all times with our guides, drivers, and locations. My trip was split between two guides, Crispen, then Pete, and they were great company that looked out for us and kept us safe and informed about everything around us. Our guides were familiar with the paths and knew everyone at our destinations. Nothing surprised them. Our drivers were impressive as well, with Harmony and Francis keeping us safe on the often-tumultuous African roads. Navigating both urban and off-road environments in our trucks was no easy task, and Francis even proved his mechanic skills during the occasional break-down. The variety of locations we stayed at were simply incredible. From Cape Town to the deserts of Namibia, the Okavango Delta to Zanzibar Island, the mixture of urban and remote landscapes couldn't have been better. We saw every animal you can imagine. On a trip like this, an open mindset is key. Traveling for two months with strangers can go any number of ways, but due to this trip, I now have lifelong friends scattered across the globe that I can't wait to visit. This wasn't just a vacation, it was a lasting, eye-opening experience that I believe everyone should try if possible. I can't recommend this trip enough. I wish I could go back to January and do it all over again.

We were four friends travelling together to Selous NP. Our guide & driver Matata was the best! Also we liked a lot the accomodation they organized for us. First day we did the boat safari, second day a game drive and the third day was a hiking safari. The hiking safari was completely different as we expected, it was more like a show than a serious hiking safari. This was the only thing that was disappointing, everything else was perfect.
