We did a one day tour from Axum to Wukro, stopping at the abuna yemata church.Haile was a great guide.he kept us informed about the region and the church.i must admit, scaling the rock wall with no safety equipment is not for everyone so make sure to get the full information before attempting this trip.we were supposed to do 3 churches but time simply ran out.so I recommend talking with Haile regarding time line for this excursion.i highly recommend taking this trip with sycamore Ethiopia tours. Haile was one.of the best guides we had in ethiopia.he was friendly and very informative.

We were lucky in travelling at a time with few tourists but had a fantastic time. The company was well organised and very honest. We had good information on the trip and what was expected. Our driver/guide was the perfect balance between giving us interesting information but at the same time allowing us to explore and ask questiions that interested us. The visits to traditional tribes were senstively done and visits were playful and fun. While we were in Addis the company took good care of us. Gasaw was very professional and attentive to our needs. He took us to a very traditional coffee shop which we woud never have found on our own . The traditional dinner dancing and singing was truely memoral.

We did a three days/ two nights tour in Danakil with a group. The tour itself was fantastic and the places more than impressive. Car and driver were perfect; sleeping facilities (outside) very OK. The guide was very helpful and has a good communication skills and was helping us a lot. The food was very tasty. Generally good value for the money and a very good experience.

The 3 day tour includes the Danakil Depression, Dallol, the salt mine, and Earta'le Volcano. Usually to visit this place it will take up to 4 days, but our tour will start in a different direction, and we make it one day less than the usual tour, which is the same tour as the 4 day tour. On in the 3rd day you will return back to Mekele late afternoon, there is also an option to fly back to Addis in the evening.

Adis is great guide with huge knowledge of archeology and history. He answered all my questions and we had very nice talk about all the important places and museums we visited during our tour. We were in oldest restaurant in Adis Abeba with special atmosphere and delicious food, for people who want to try something unusual ask about honey wine there. Also we visited oldest caffe shop where you can buy nice coffee and have a talk. Thank you Adis ????????

He organized especially for us 10 days in Ethiopia and we called this journey : North and South. We choose Simien Mountains Trekking and Omo Valley - tribes visiting because we love the nature and people. It was fantastic choice because we have a unique experience to touch the nature in the North and the culture in the South. I've got the best possible service, as for me. I had a really good guide and great driver. He was very attentive: I did video on the way with opened windows and driver closed window for safety and said me I can continue to video street life. I liked traditional clothing market a lot: if you want to have really beautiful souvenir from Ethiopia, I think Shiromeda ( I'm not sure, if I wrote it correctly..) is the best possible place)) I really highly appreciative for the service I had. We visited Mercato market and I felt totally safe there: without a guide I would never go there. But with the guide it was very interesting and safe visit. The tour is flexible and it's great: you can choose what is interesting for you. We bought good coffee on the way and also I've tasted avocado and mango juice)) The owner of company is great and treated me in the best way)) Highly recommended Ethio Travel and Tours for your tours through Ethiopia and Addis.

Family of 6 did a 3 day, 2 night tour in Danakil Depression. The region is stunning but before getting there we were worried about the basic accommodation/ infrastructure (e.g. sleeping on mattresses under the stars and lack of toilets) since my parents are 60+. However Tesfa (one of the owners and our guide) organised everything extremely well. He ensured everything was clean and the food was cooked well and to our taste. He planned the tour very well so we were walking at night or early morning when it wasn't very hot and then driving in AC cars in the heat of the day. He also tried to organise so we would get to places first or when there were not many people so we could enjoy the full natural beauty. He is very knowledgable and looked after us very well. He cares a lot about the local people and supporting them in a positive way, which we appreciated a lot. The drivers, chef and whole team were very good. I would highly recommend Magma Flow Tours for a tour to Danakil. They are based in Mekele and specialise in these tours so are a great company to choose for your trip!

I had a 2 day tour (April 29-30) of the Lalibela churches with Achenef Enegdaw as my tour guide. I saw several churches when I arrived. Stayed over night and saw the remainder the next morning before I flew back to Addis Ababa. He was an outstanding tour guide steeped in the history and religion of the churches. He was excellent and filled me with information as we walked through and around the 11 rock hewn churches. It was one of the great experiences of my adult life. I have been traveling in Africa for almost 30 years, and have never has such a profound emotional and spiritual experience as I did in Lalibela.
