Jinja is a town in southern Uganda, on the shore of Lake Victoria. The source of the Nile, at Coronation Park, is marked by a garden and a monument honoring British explorer John Hanning Speke. Owen Falls Dam and Bujagali Dam both span the Nile. Farther north on the river, Itanda Falls is known for its white-water rapids. East of Jinja, on Lake Victoria, Samuka Island is home to birdlife, including little egrets. Kampala is Uganda's national and commercial capital bordering Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake. Hills covered with red-tile villas and trees surround an urban centre of contemporary skyscrapers. In this downtown area, the Uganda Museum explores the country's tribal heritage through an extensive collection of artefacts. On nearby Mengo Hill is Lubiri Palace, the former seat of the Buganda Kingdom.

The 14 days we spent in Uganda are unforgettable! My girlfriend and I had an amazing time with Khadventure Expeditions as they looked after us from start to finish and made this a truly memorable holiday. We always yearned to meet the mountain Gorillas of Uganda and Africa’s big five mammals right from the beautiful savannah and thick jungles on our next holiday. This was a dream come true when we were advised by our travel agent to contact Khadventure Expeditions, a local tour company in this Pearl of Africa. They were really professional from start, putting together an amazing package to meet our interests and on our budget line. On arrival at Entebbe International airport, Herbert our driver guide was ready to usher us into this paradise. He happily welcomed us, delivered us to the guest house and checked us in. He reviewed and briefed on the tour itinerary with us together. In the field, Herbert was an exceptional guide I have ever met; his driving skills and experience are unmatched. He could drive for long hours tirelessly and keeping us informed of his country history and how amazing are the people of Uganda from region to region with stories as he drove from one destination to another! He was indeed an amazing guide. We knew we were in good hands when he stopped and turned off the engine and identified a bird by call! His eye for spotting wildlife was nothing short of impressive (for what it's worth, I’m a wildlife photographer and I believe in life behind the lenses. He was intimately familiar with everything from species of animals and plants, to the terrain and how to best navigate it, as well as subtle cultural nuances, good music, and where to get great coffee! Days and money we spent in Uganda were worth it, we can’t recall a moment we were not happy throughout this holiday. We have resolved to visit Uganda again probably next year. We spent the afternoon visiting the Amabere Caves and the surrounding caves with Wilson. This is such a beautiful part of Uganda (although isn't the whole country just stunning!?) and was a great way to spend an afternoon. Wilson is an amazing guy and it was a pleasure to spend a few hours with him. He taught us a lot about the area and it was just a shame we couldn't have spent longer with him. I understand that Wilson and his colleagues offer various tours and when I come back to Uganda I won't hesitate booking with Kigere Tours. Would recommend them to anyone visiting Uganda, whether you're looking for a one day tour or a longer trip. Thanks for a great afternoon Wilson. I'm confident we'll meet again in the future... Next time it's Mt Stanley!
