Nomadic tribal heritage and modern society co-exist in the UAE, a federation of seven emirates at the southeastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula. Look beyond the desert that consumes four-fifths of its area and you'll find UAE capital Abu Dhabi, an oil-rich city of skyscrapers, parks and malls, and Dubai, with its split personality of luxury resorts and covered marketplaces, upscale boutiques and local artisans. For a break from urban sprawl, journey over rolling red sand dunes into the Hatta Mountains, where the 200-year-old Sharia Mosque sits amid 30 restored buildings of sandalwood and mud.

Al Thuraya Astronomy Center is the first-of-its-kind project in the UAE. It includes everything related to the world of astronomy, including a Planetarium, Telescopes, an Astro Gallery and an exhibition of science-related gems. It also has a library, Astro Academy, a 100-seat theatre, and a meteorite exhibition where visitors get to touch and hold samples in their own hands.
One of the things I've wished in my life is to see stars and planets through a telescope. I was hoping to visit one of the countries that owns the telescope station. I was amazed to know that one of them was being built in Dubai in Mushrif Park. I was so happy, so I made a visit with my kids. They loved this place so much. The building is like UFO. It consists of a space cinema, a space library, a space workshop, a gift shop and a telescope shop, as well as a café. The building also includes models of planets and spacecraft, and there are real meteorites. And the most beautiful of all, a large moving dome that contains a large and very sophisticated telescope to see the stars in high definition. I want to thank all staff who work there for their warm welome, and support and for the tour they gave , Mr Uzair and Ms Habiba. And a special thanks to Mr Hasan the CEO for his hospitality and for allowing me and my kids to enter the large telescope dome. More over , They have membership program as well which allows you to get discounts and attend many great space events. I suggest residents and visitors to visit this magnificent place

This was the best IMAX experience I have had. You can book your tickets and snacks using several machines in front of the theatre, and you can choose whether to pick up the snacks now or later. The quality fo both video and audio in the IMAX screen was outstanding and the seats were very comfortable. Also, for families, I noticed some movies were showing in two screens, dedicating a screen for families with children.

We visited Reel Cinemas in Dubai Mall as a ‘date night’ and had such a good time. It’s easy to find and the mall car park is well sign posted to reach the appropriate section for the cinema. We bought our tickets online in advance as you get a 2 for 1 offer if you have a HSBC credit card (they also have 2 for 1 offers on the Entertainer App too). There were plenty of food options to choose from there located within the cinema - or even better there was a food court in the main mall area with hundreds of options to choose from. We had the dine-in VIP cinema option and thought the food was really nice. The VIP cinemas are smaller than the usual and seem to be better quality (however our favourite are the dolby cinemas for quality). Overall a great cinema and good value for money!
