Great little art cinema. They seem to show a variety of movies + have singalong musical sessions sometimes. Comfy seats, small venue, 2 screens, friendly staff. I loved having a mulled wine and cheeseboard to enjoy during the movie.

We are a boutique cinema located in the Arts Centre’s West Lecture building. Lumiere has two theatres – The Bernhardt seating 67 and The Bardot which seats 42. We feature state-of-the-art technology with vintage ambiance, luxurious seating and a focus on service. Located at Level 2 is our lovely, cosy and warm Bijou Bar, there you’ll find all things catering for your taste palate
This cinema is contained within the old Arts Centre in Christchurch which is made up of Gothic architecture. Most of the buildings have now been repaired as a result of our earthquakes but this cinema is a sight to behold! Very bespoke, very classy, and the cinemas offer large leather seats to relax in. There is a a cosy bar overlooking the Botanical Gardens - go and see and experience it for yourself. There is a lift so no problems for disabled or older people.

Voted a 'must see' for visitors to Te Anau & Fiordland National Park, Ata Whenua - Shadowland (pronounced 'Ata-fenua'; also known as 'Fiordland on Film') takes you on an unforgettable cinematic journey through one of the most awe inspiring landscapes on earth. See the Fiordland World Heritage wilderness you would not otherwise get to see. Mysterious, evocative, exhilarating and utterly spectacular, filmed across extremes of the seasons, climate and terrain. Running time: 32 minutes. Fiordland Cinema also screens regular feature movies
Excellent place, has a boutique cinema feel to it & they brought my teapot, cup & milk into the theatre at the start (hubby already had his wine). Large screen, huge seats & even had an intermission which i thought hilarious. Bar on the side looked nice & cosy.

Saw the latest adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Emma” last night and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. As other reviewers have said, this has a very old time feel about it. It has successfully avoided renovations, has a great mix of sofas and old style cinema seating to choose from, and I was even able to pull over a chair to put my sore leg up. Definitely recommend this cinema if you’re in the Geraldine area

The Auditorium at the NBS Theatre is the perfect place for any large event you may have planned. Whether its a full theatrical production, a concert, a school reunion, an awards ceremony, or even a corporate dinner, we've got you covered at the NBS Theatre Auditorium. The Auditorium can seat up to 405, but is normally set up to seat 359. Planning a banquet? Why not have it at the NBS Theatre? You can seat your guests on the stage, and if you need some more room we can remove the first three tiers of the seating to increase the flat floor area to accommodate a band perhaps, or just a dance floor, or both! The Auditorium also has a 3 meter wide cross over to the back of the stage, a Green Room, two Dressing Rooms, backstage toilets and shower, and even a kitchen.
