With its rich cultural heritage from Native American and Spanish settlers, New Mexico has been both a Spanish colony and a Mexican colony, and still retains a strong individual identity within the United States. The landscape is breathtaking, the food incredible, and there is a thriving cultural scene, all of which makes New Mexico, and Santa Fe in particular, a great place all year long.

Coming from a local resident, this fully restored theater reminds me of going to the old Gila theater of late late 60’s early 70’s. A fun and relaxing way to get away from it all, and awesome popcorn, snacks and staff to boot, one of many Silver City’s and Grant County’s Gems!! Come catch a movie.

I saw the Van Gogh and Japan film - so beautiful. I think films change weekly. Senior price was about $7. Could have gotten popcorn right inside the theatre. Worth supporting local treasures like this theatre. I would have never know to seek out this film, but was delighted to learn the history and enjoy the visually appealing scenes. Made for a great afternoon. Plus you’re supporting the locals.

We love going to the Violet Crown where you purchase your own seats and every seat has an excellent view. The seats are comfortable and the theaters are perfect for to enjoy a movie. If you're hungry you can order dinner or snacks and bring them into the movie to eat while watching.
