Leiston Film Theatre celebrating over 100 years of Entertainment! From the latest films to amazing stage shows, there's something for everyone
On holiday and saw this in the local town so decided to pay it a visit - what a little gem. Amazing little place with one screen, showing recent films. It was very comfortable, great popcorn, friendly and helpful staff and the picture and sound quality were great. It was a shame more people were not using the facility, I would love to have something like this where we live. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in going.

Always a warm welcome when you come to the Bingo/Cinema here in Felixstowe. Great value for the Books/PALs. Bar and food prices are keen, so you’re not going to feel as though you’ve been fleeced. Food is freshly cooked and served at your booth. You can book it to be delivered at the Interval. You’re sure to have a great time.

Regal Movieplex Cinema is a 4 Screen Cinema. Part of the Merlin Cinemas Group. Blockbusters and events on the big screen!
I have been going to this cinema for over 40 years. My aunt used to do the bookings for the cinema from her shop on the corner of Hans Place and Louden Road. One of the earliest films I remember seeing was Live and Let Die when a Mr. Norris was manager - I also remember that he was ex-army and drove a VW Beetle. Anyway, back to my visit. This time it was to see the film "1917". Since my work to restore and repair the WW1 War Memorial in Cromer, I have done a great deal of research and reading into the "Great War" so this film was something I have been looking forward to since last May. My Great-Grandfather was killed in "1917" at the Passchendaele so part of me was thinking about that particular conflict. The film was brilliant and captivated everyone in the cinema. At the end, something happened which I have only seen happen once before. As the credits rolled, nobody moved or spoke. Everyone stayed silent and sat still. Whether the film deserved this or it was a mark of respect I don't know - personally, I think it was both. The last time by the way was in Florida, September 2006 when I went to a cinema with my son to watch "World Trade Center". The cinema is a little gem. It has 4 screens - this time I was in Screen 1 - the largest of the screens. At the opposite side of screens, the smallest is Screen 4 which is a cosy little theatre and is like a luxury cinema in your own house. I always try and sit in an aisle seat on the left side facing the screen so I can move my right leg around. Fortunately, the staff at the cinema have become used to me asking for this so are always able to accommodate my request. Accessing the cinema is not a challenge either as they have a ramp meaning I do not have to negotiate the steps. On this point, Screen 1 is ramped all the way to your seat with no steps so again, absolutely perfect. The selection of films is always up-to-date and they have special screenings here which come from The National Theatre, Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and Royal Shakespeare Company to name a few. The staff are great and always agreeable. There is a bar, popcorn and confectionery, ice cream available at a reasonable price. Yes, you can travel to the city and sit in a larger seat with a few hundred people and see a film in 3D but if you want good service, latest films in a convenient cinema that delivers what you expect this cinema ticks all the boxes. What shall I see next?

Aldeburgh Cinema has been continuously showing films for almost 100 years, a feat made possible through the ingenuity of local heroes, starting with gentleman’s outfitter, Walter Hill, who originally built the auditorium alongside his shop. The Cinema was rescued from closure in the 1960s by the determination of remarkable individuals, including Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears, who devoted time and money to ensuring the little town of Aldeburgh still has its own cinema to this day.
A delightful experience - a very welcoming foyer that is ideal for mingling, excellent auditorium, comfortable seats, perfect sound (both quantity and quality), feeling that you are part of something worthwhile. Although there is a concessionary rate - I didn't mind not taking advantage of it.

We tried Cinema City for the first time this week as we wanted to see Cats in the daytime and this was the only cinema offering it. The screening was packed so we were clearly not the only ones. We found the online booking process efficient(good thing we did book as it was so busy) and enjoyed the whole experience. There is a very smart restaurant and bar and the historical building makes this a very different experience to the normal cinema visit. The other viewers were well behaved so were able to enjoy the film in peace. By the way CATS was well worth seeing, ignore the critics if you like musicals, you will like this film. We will definitely consider visiting Cinema City again soon and the price of tickets would be more attractive if we bought a membership.

Located in central Ipswich, with plenty of screens, the Empire is a modern comfortable cinema. Always have a fine experience here, most recently in September 2020. Their COVID-19 measures are sound and the staff informative and helpful. In our view the best cinema in the Ipswich area. Incidentally prices are always good-they compare with local competitors and undercut them. They have a board the cinema where you can see that. They also offer the CEA card service for those with disabilities in their family. Top notch.

Situated on the Golden Mile The New Arc Cinema provides you with Five brand new screens. Amazing luxurious leather armchairs in every screen, with generous legroom! Sit back and relax as you watch amazing movies on Sony 4K Digital Projection and Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound! Screens 1 to 4 are accessible to all. For the love of film!
Don't be put off by the older exteriors of this building it's a tale of two sides. When you get inside there's a modern foyer with drinks, kids sweets and very friendly and helpful staff. Clean toilets on this level and also near screen 5. All screens have great sounds, big screens and very comfortable recliner seats as standard. Visited on multiple occasions this week and not been disappointed. Very safe procedures in place during covid19. Give it a try young and old or both you won't be disappointed. They're showing films only released prior to lockdown both for very young and older folks, but very fairly have reduced prices to reflect this. Give a go, we did and made are holidays entertainment all the better????????
