The Cotswolds (/ˈkɒtswoʊldz/ KOTS-wohldz, /-wəldz/ -wəldz) is an area in south central England containing the Cotswold Hills, a range of rolling hills which rise from the meadows of the upper Thames to an escarpment, known as the Cotswold Edge, above the Severn Valley and Evesham Vale. The area is defined by the bedrock of Jurassic limestone that creates a type of grassland habitat rare in the UK and that is quarried for the golden coloured Cotswold stone. It contains unique features derived from the use of this mineral; the predominantly rural landscape contains stone-built villages, historical towns and stately homes and gardens. The population of the District is about 84,000.

I was really rather nervous about booking The Screening Rooms having read the most recent reviews, but having visited in the past and really enjoyed it, I decided to go ahead. We booked online via the Cineworld website which instructed me how to book those particular screens. When we arrived no one was at the front desk but the guys behind the bar were very helpful and scanned our barcode and gave us tickets. We ordered drinks which were brought into the screening room before the film started. All food appeared to be available and most of the other customers were happily eating and drinking. I enjoyed a lovely pot of tea - no, I know I’m not living the high life here but it was hot and served with a smile so who’s complaining? Seats were great. Really well spaced out, fantastic leg room and very comfy. Toilets were immaculate. It was an early afternoon showing so they probably hadn’t seen much traffic, but no complaints here. All in all a great afternoon. Staff lovely. Venue clean and tidy. Facilities spot on. Film was excellent too! We’ll definitely return.

The Prince Albert is a popular pub up in Rodborough, Stroud where good beer, wine, food and music flow. Lotte, Miles and family have created a quirky space. The walls are covered with photos of musical inspirations and valued patrons, the sofas are pink and the walls are green. Dogs are welcome but must get on with resident dogs Fernando and Baxter.
A lovely local pub. Stayed in the area for a week and felt very welcomed by the warm reception from the staff. Treated ourselves to the superb pizzas on our last night there. Delicious. Also nice to have some takeaway local drinks, avoids having to go down (and back up!) the hill to nearest shop and nice to support a local, independent venue that is doing fantastic work for the community and beyond during the time when the hospitality industry feels on a knife edge. Viva la locale! Go here, drink beer.
