The Avon Theatre features the best of independent, documentary, foreign films and Hollywood classics, and educational programming that enhances the cultural richness of the Stamford community. The Avon is a non-profit, member-supported organization that has been described as an eclectic and whimsical picture house. The theatre is highlighted by an original exterior facade, framed by a restored vertical "AVON" marquee that lights up the Connecticut sky at night.
Been there many times and it is always a real pleasure. They show first run and older films you saw long ago. The accommodations are comfortable and the view and sound is great. Many thanks to the Royces's , without whom the AVON would not exist. It is a true treasure of downtown Stamford.

We saw the latest The Good Liar movie. The theater was close to us and parking was a breeze. The theater seats were wonderful and spacious. Plenty of aisle space to walk and well lit. The surround sound was perfect and not too loud. What a great afternoon for a movie.

This is my favorite movie theater because of its history and the overall ambiance. Note; the two theaters themselves are nothing special. They're rather small and the seats are old but comfortable. But their popcorn is freshly popped with your choice of many condiments to put on it. There are homemade deserts, coffee, water and the regular movie theater candy.

This is your old school drive in movies. The only thing is you need to use your own radio in your car. They have car load night and is very affordable. Make sure your windshield is clean and you keep your headlights off. Enjoy the movies you get to see 2.

This theater is clean, has plenty of free parking and well lite at night. They have beautiful new leather full recliners. On Tuesday it's only $4.75 . Just try to beat that price. On a normal day its still only $7.00. A large freshly popped popcorn is only $6 bucks. It's like a shopping bag full. I think I just found my new theater when I want to see a film. Sorry about the pic, guess the flash didn't go off.Always Chefnfly

What a great place in which to see a movie! Perfect dimensions for each of its two intimate screening rooms, great sound system, enjoyable concessions, and above all the best arthouse movies available. The owner loves movies and it shows in so many ways. Ticket prices are kept very reasonable and the number of showings for each film each day provides all the flexibility you need. A Madison treasure!
