Chongqing ([ʈʂʰʊ̌ŋ.tɕʰîŋ] ( listen)), formerly romanized as Chungking, is a major city in southwest China. Administratively, it is one of China's four direct-controlled municipalities (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin), and the only such municipality in China located far away from the coast.

Largest Buddhist grotto in the world inside the mountain. Home to many endangered species including jaguar. Beautiful place.
We weren't sure we wanted to go to Jinfo, but it happened that we had to pass through Nanchuan on our way to Wansheng, so we decided to do it. And we are very glad that we did. It was different to the other attractions in the area, very beautiful scenery and there weren't too many people in the park. Since information in English is not too easy to find, here is some information: Getting there: we came from Wulong, it's about an 1.5 bus ride (30 Yuan). You can also come from Wansheng (15 Yuan) or Chongqing (not sure about the price. Stay: In Nanchuan, it took us a while to find a hotel that accepted foreigners. We ended up staying at the 7 days inn, looks a little scary when you get there, but don't worry, it's quite clean and comfortable. 140 Yuan per night, available on trip.com. There are also plenty of hotels right by Jinfo mountain (we didn't stay there), and a couple on top of the mountain. Camping: Because these were expensive, we camped - the tent for two people with sleeping bags and mats was 70 Yuan. No one else was camping, but it was super comfortable, but it is a bit cold on the mountain at night. Barely any food was available after 4PM so you need to get / bring your supplies. There was a bathroom open all night by the park entrance. Tickets: 180 Yuan including cable car up and down, bus to the cable car and the entry fee. 135 or so for student ticket. You can hike, there is a road available, but it would be an all day hike (called ten thousand step road, so...) so expect to sleep on the mountain. If you want to skip the bus, there is also a pedestrian way, but it's only 10 Yuan each way, so would only make sense if you want to walk (not so much cost savings). Sightseeing: there are a few places to hike around. The plank road is very cool but not for someone afraid of heights. However, there is an alternative route, so you could still enjoy Jinfo. The cave with the Buddha's is incredible - don't miss it. The whole thing can take anywhere between 4-8 hours depending on your pace and how many stops you make. Of course, there will be some stairs, but they can be avoided, so it's good for all levels and abilities. Not sure if everything is accessible though. Food: very limited, at least in the summer. Try to bring stuff with you. I eat Chinese food, but there just weren't any options.
