Dorothy clicked her heels to return to Kansas, and you'll want to do the same after you've visited this one-time cattle town turned modern, booming city, where the spirit of the Old West lives on. To get a feel of the early pioneer days, visit the recreated village at the Old Cowtown Museum. For a slightly more eccentric experience, visit the Museum of Ancient Treasures, which has everything from a baseball signed by Joe DiMaggio to a shrunken head. The Indian Center Museum features works by Plains Indian artists. Wichita is an aircraft manufacturing center, and the Kansas Aviation Museum honors pioneers in the field, as well as housing model planes. Exploration Place gives kids more insights into aviation and other scientific wonders. For nature and wildlife, check out Botanica's lovely gardens or head over to the Sedgwick County Zoo, home to over 350 species of animals. Wichita stays up when the sun goes down: there's nightlife, culture, karaoke and cuisine for all tastes.

the Howard Johnson Inn is situated in west Wichita, 1.7 miles from Mid-Continent Airport. All local businesses, restaurants, shopping centers, convention centers, arenas, universities, hospitals, city buildings, and attractions are within 15 to 20 miles of the Howard Johnson Inn
The hotel was in very poor condition. The bathroom door didn’t shut and someone wrote dirty words on the bathroom wall. The beds were not very comfortable and the television did not work. The room did seem like it was clean but needs a lot of repairs and updates. I not would not recommend this hotel at all.

This hotel was in the perfect location for my trip. I had some issues with the door handle/key card but they put me in a room that had the same door handle issues but at least the key card worked in the new room (it still took many attempts to unlock the door though)

Scotsman Inn West, a fine Kansas hotel offering guests clean and cozy accommodations in a convenient location near local attractions.
I have stayed here before, but the place seems to have gone downhill and in a state of disrepair. No WiFi in the room and only a very weak signal in the hallway. Smoke detector was disabled with wires hanging out, no holder for toilet tissue, no Kleenex in the container, (see photos) outside side door handle was broken so not secure as anyone could come in and out with a key. I would not recommend staying here.

My god don't stay here no matter how desperate you are. Filthy doesn't even come close. When we checked in after a huge mess with the first hotel and hours of searching for an open room we could afford as we brought limited resources, we settled on this place just out of stress and exhaustion. I would have felt safer sleeping in my car, not to mention the car os cleaner!. When I took pictures to the office about my concerns at check out he said we should have come to him sooner. We tried. 24 hour front desk is a fat lie. We were only in the room from midnight to 6 am the 2 days. Couldn't reach anyone. The guy treated us badly and then they accused us of smoking in the room. I have asthma and hate anything related to the smell of smoking anything. My fiance had a black and mild cigar OUTSIDE while talking to another hotel guest. The guy said he wouldn't refund us anything and threatened to call the police chased us out and locked us out. Guess they didn't want their physical key back. Key.. not card. No housekeeping.. no 24 hour front desk. Not given a wifi password.. there was a dirty sock behind the toilet.. the corners were so gross... and because we prepared 2 days prior to seeing the room they trapped us with no refunds even though the room was gross.

Janky. That explains the entire experience here. I came here on a long road trip. I originally went to the Kellogg East location, but they were full, and recommended I go here. Firstly, driving from Kellogg East to here was odd. The exit (none of this is Motel 6's fault) drives you past the Motel, and then you have to loop around the highway. It is just odd. The location is in a desolate, strip-mally area (as is common for airports--again, none of this is dinging the Motel), which could or could not be safe. Upon entering and checking in, I was greeted by a man behind bulletproof glass. He was on the phone for a good 10 minutes, so I waited and perused the 'exciting things to do in Witchita' pamphlets. (side-note: I have found that people in not-exciting places sure have a lot of these things) There were a lot of weird signs about deposits and extra charges and holds on cards (many employing the look-out-here-comes-an-S apostrophe, my pet peeve). Eventually, I book my room. Communication was difficult through BULLETPROOF GLASS and only a little scoop for transference of cards or money. When I gave him my chip-enabled credit card, he had to unlock the door so I could punch in my PIN. At this point, he made a crack about my appearance (O...K...) and it took another 10 minutes for him to make photo copies of my licence and a bunch of other really confusing stuff that I haven't had happen before at a Motel 6. I've been to sketchier Motel 6s (I'm looking at you Medford, OR), so didn't really understand why these 'security measures' were at DEFCON 5. I'm now chalking it up to sheer paranoia. We looped around back to our room. Parked between a couple of dumpsters (they were doing construction of other rooms--work that started at 8am (mind you, we got there at 11:30pm). We were FORTUNATE enough that this didn't impact our stay. But the janky signs in the yard (No Poo & pe), the construction debris in front of the garbage bins, random (poop-strewn?) doors near the stairwell contributed to a skeeziness that we felt. (by the way, that sign didn't work: there was a turd right off the path in the grass that I narrowly avoided: also, where the hell else are dogs supposed to go to: there is no other patch of grass in this concrete jungle? (we pick up our dog's poop with a poop bag like civilised dog owners)) Again, janky. The room was typical of a Motel 6. Queen Bed. Orange wall. Weird rolled-towel holder thing made of particle board. In the bathroom, there was a metal towel holder--it had rust stains on the wall. There were some (blood?) stains on the bathroom wall. Otherwise, the room was fairly clean--no mites or bedbugs...no dust in the corners. But I have to say, this was the least comfortable bed I had slept on. It was creaky, sagging in the middle, and a VERY poor quality sleep. My partner was so skeezed out by the stay that I had to up my game the next time and move beyond Motel 6. Apparently, Days Inn has our loyalty at this point. Sorry guys, you wrecked it for the whole chain. I probably won't be going back.Been a customer for 35 years, but... it's just too risky now. And if I see a response that 'this isn't typical for Motel 6 standards' or whatever, I will laugh. Yeah. We know. That's why we're complaining. This is an ownership/management problem, not a Motel 6 problem.

Older property. Box tv. Lumpy bed which i think was just the box spring. Foldout couch missing mattress so it sunk in. Door frame broken. Although the stay was quiet. The place is in need of an update.also found some interesting signage and what i guess is a menu left from a previous guest.

Pawnee Inn has impressed me so much by providing a safe and comfortable experience for my nephew. They have gone above and beyond to help me pay for and stay in touch with him from afar. We have turned to them time and again because of this. They feel like friends at this point. Great communication! Highly recommend!
