The motto of the resort town of Ogunquit, Maine, is "beautiful place by the sea," and with three and a half miles of sheltered white sand beaches, the residents are definitely not lying. Take a walk along the Marginal Way, a path that winds along rocky cliffs overlooking the ocean, or explore the town center on the local public transit - an old fashioned trolley. With art galleries, fresh seafood, and the summer stock Ogunquit Playhouse, the town of Ogunquit is a favorite vacation destination.

The Milestone is a perfect combination of hustle, bustle and relaxation. Our rooms are close to the beach, restaurants and shops, while being set far enough away for you to enjoy the peace and quiet. Lush grounds, affordable rooms and excellent service will make you feel like you're at a five star resort without the expensive price tag. Enjoy our top notch facilities like the fitness center and heated pool. Or, venture out and take a quick stroll to the village and restaurants. If you'd like to enjoy the area's sites and scenary, simply hop on the town's seasonal trolley for a quick, easy ride.
We have been going to the Milestone for the last 20 years without any problems (even through cancelling). During the pandemic, this property was sold to new owners. We have tried to cancel our booking for May 2022. The first night has been paid by credit card and it is impossible to get refunded as we should. We called the owner twice while she said that the refund is refused by our bank. She said she will call us back, but never did. We now have to complain directly at hotels.com and they will help us. The new owner is very suspicious. We will definitely look for a new place for our futur travelling in ogunquit, probably Juniper.

The only nightly lodging on Perkins Cove. All our renovated rooms offer great views of the Cove and are a very short walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the Cove and the start of the Marginal Way.
Exceeded our expectations in every way. Location, the spacious room in the Captains House, and the above and beyond cleanliness and quiet. It was just what we wished for. Our first time staying in the Cove and we can’t wait to return.

In the tradition of Maine's summer resorts, the Marginal Way House has been welcoming visitors since at least 1911. Located on Wharf Lane, two blocks from the center of town, directly across from the Ogunquit Beach, the Marginal Way House offers incomparable views of the beach and coastline. Offering 3 types of rooms including hotel rooms in our Main and Wharf House buildings, ocean front rooms in our Dockside building, and efficiency apartments which are located through out our 5 building complex.
What can I say beyond WOW! I have stayed many places in Ogunquit over the past thirty years but truly the Marginal Way House is my favorite. The room was beautifully decorated. I loved the little chandelier’s which you wouldn’t expect to see in your room. Very classy. We had an awesome view of the beach directly across from us. Did I mention the shower it was so spacious, wish I could take it home. The flowers in the yard and Adirondack chairs provide a beautiful and comfortable view of the ocean in front of you. It took us 1 minute to walk to downtown. Fabulous shopping and restaurants. Take my advice if your lucky enough to get a reservation do it. I promise you won’t regret it.

It was getting late on Friday afternoon when we decided to look toward the beach for 2 rooms with 2 beds. We checked on trip advisor and decided Sea View might be a good idea. We stopped and was happy to see that there was availability. We were told that there would be no breakfast but there was a restaurant across the street. Coffee would be available outside the office door . After paying we started to our rooms with our 50 lb suitcases. We were on the 3rd floor! NO ELEVATORS. We are old ladies, we should have left. We managed to get a pretty good nights sleep. The back strain wasn’t evident until later the next day. We found the coffee about 8 am The extra charges. $15 per room cleaning fee and $5 RESORT fee was not mentioned in the reservation information It was a $40 lesson to me to ask questions about a advertisement The rest of the trip to New England in the fall was wonderful and we met helpful, friendly people

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the course of 30 years. Some recent updates have been made. Our room was a 2 bedroom suite. Bathroom and room was generally clean and updated, but the sofa could have used a cleaning. In was uninviting to sit on. My daughter was sleeping on the pull out couch and I requested sheets and a blanket. I was told they only had one sheet available. I could not have a top sheet. This seems odd for a motel! Coffee and continental breakfast was ok. Kayaks and bikes available for rental. Not a bad place for a few days, but needs better customer service.

We had a hard time finding a dog friendly hotel. This one accepts dogs but is not dog friendly. They appear to have a few rooms which are in a very dismal part of the complex. If fact you don’t even feel like you are in the same place. You can’t take the dog on the main property. They have not vacuumed under the beds for years so our dog is eating all this crap. And they charge $35 extra a night! There is no housekeeping which isn’t a big deal. When checking in there was a line of 3-4 of us and only one person was checking people in while the other counter person just sat and watched. In the “pet” section there is a small 1800’s cemetery which is kind of neat but it has not been kept up and is kind of disgusting it is in such disarray. Compare my photos to the hotel photos.

We are a 20 room motel located one mile from Ogunquit village and close to the beautiful Footbridge beach. Trolley line is close by. Some resturants within walking distance or a short drive. Come relax by the riverside, as our property boarders the Ogunquit River. This property is not pet friendly.
My husband & I have been coming here for many, many years. We find the location quite good & management was always friendly & helpful. We decided our most recent trip would be our last, due to the new ownership. We requested a “ Riverview” room on the back level, but were placed in a front room a couple doors away from the office. These rooms are much older and dated. Beds, not very comfortable. The microwave & small fridge are “inconveniently “ placed on the small outside balcony on the back of the motel. We specifically asked for a downstairs room to avoid this, as well as the traffic noise outside the upstairs rooms. (The river-view rooms were remodeled several years ago after there was a big flood in town). Those rooms are newer, better beds and have large walk-in showers which are better than the old, slippery tubs like what we had on this trip. So, not only was the tub terribly slippery, with no grab bar, the old toilet had a crack in it and the vent fan was basically useless. There is a sign on the bureau about all the things not allowed, smoking, marijuana, etc. Well, the first night was like being at“Woodstock” with the music & aroma from the next room! Oh well! We left in the morning and decided to make the best of it for our long weekend. Coming back to our room late in the afternoon, we found that there was no housekeeping, no fresh towels. When my husband went to ask about it, the office was closed, (for lunch?), and the person there, ( maintenance?), didn’t understand. When the manager returned, my husband went to ask again… he brought us fresh towels and TP as per our request. Apparently, they do not enter rooms to clean without permission? I thought leaving the door knob sign was enough permission, but I guess not. We did our own housekeeping for our stay, no biggie, just like home! Long story, I know, but we were so disappointed with our stay and our room and the new policies, that we actually spent some of our stay looking for other options for our next visit. I guess not all change is for the best, We sure miss the previous management. No thank you, Bombay Corp. we’ll go elsewhere.
