Tradition collides with pop culture in Tokyo, where you can reverently wander ancient temples before rocking out at a karaoke bar. Wake up before the sun to catch the lively fish auction at the Tsukiji Market, then refresh with a walk beneath the cherry blossom trees that line the Sumida River. Spend some time in the beautiful East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, then brush up on your Japanese history at the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Don’t forget to eat as much sushi, udon noodles, and wagashi (Japanese sweets) as your belly can handle.

Hachiko is a legend in Tokyo, so much so that copy statues of this faithful are common (such as in Don Quixote). But this is the real deal, and a great photo opportunity. The statue is easily located outside Shibuya station, and definitely worth visiting and knowing the story so you can understand the obsession with all the Hachiko souvenirs!

Finally I found this statue! :) It took me 30 minutes by walk from Tokyo University of Art to Tokyo University where this reunited statue displayed... Thumbs up for the artist, because he can made Hachiko And Prof Ueno face sooo real, their expression were captured perfectly, it said all about their relationship

We ran into these two lions in front of Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nihonbashi when we visited the flagship store. These are modeled after lions at Trafalger square. They're beautifully detailed, and everyone who passes by comes and pats their paws. We watched gaggles of schoolkids pass by giving little roars as they saw the lions. Very cute.

We always make sure to stop in Odaiba to see the 1:1 Gundam every time we go to Japan. From the classic RX-78 to the current Unicorn I do feel this is landmark of Japan loved by the people who live there and foreigners alike. This should clearly be on the list for people who like anime, robots, science fiction, etc - but I would say there's a good chance anyone would enjoy seeing something like this come to life. It's a work of art. Relatively quick to get to from multiple train stops, and the Diver City mall is quite extensive with a good food court as well.

We went to Odaiba seaside park and came across a replica of the Statue of Liberty. Quite nicely built. No need to go to New York.
